Sep-28-15
 | | FSR: Hey Bookie! You can pay off <Svidler - Giri Short Draw : NO> now. |
Sep-28-15
 | | FSR: <Beholder> Personally, I would profit if Svidler managed to win that game, but I'm sure that they'll agree to a draw rather than have that happen. Cf. Topalov vs Svidler, 2015, where Svidler was winning but agreed to a draw. |
| Sep-28-15 | | Beholder: <FSR> Right. He had a veritable mating attack in that game and still agreed to a draw. A pity, checkmating Topalov twice in two games would have been nice. In contrast, today white has only a minimal advantage and of course Svidler values a few extra hours of rest much more. Got carried away following an over-enthusiastic online commentary a bit :) |
Sep-28-15
 | | FSR: <Beholder> Wow, I hadn't realized that Svidler had actually mated Topalov in the first game. Had the question not already been answered in the affirmative, that would have assured that at least one World Cup game would end in checkmate. (But still no underpromotions AFAIK - right, <SwitchingQuylthulg>?) |
Sep-28-15
 | | FSR: Finally drawn after 51 moves. |
| Sep-28-15 | | MarkFinan: It was one move short of mate according to chess24. And I could have sworn there was a bet on the amount of moves in both games! I'm pretty sure I put 200 on 50 plus moves. |
| Sep-28-15 | | Beholder: <MarkFinan> If you are talking about the first Svidler - Topalov game than no, it wasn't any moves short of mate, the mate was on the board. |

Sep-28-15
 | | FSR: Karjakin is the only player besides "OTHER" who's still standing. World Cup: WINNER |
| Sep-28-15 | | Beholder: <World Cup: Last Countries Standing : Russia [info] 200 LIVE BET 11:2 6.33 1,266 Oct-05-15> He-he. |

Sep-28-15
 | | FSR: I bet on USA, silly me. |
| Sep-28-15 | | Beholder: <If the tiebreak match does last 2 or 4 games, "OTHER" will pay. For purposes of this bet, will not factor in this bet.> That language seems rather unclear ;) |

Yeah, I was never (and still not) good at that "English" in school. (oh I see, I'm missing some words; better go fix it) |
| Sep-28-15 | | WinKing: Looks like a few of the elite took a dive. What a pity heh heh. But I see the 'grinder' is pushin the big 20K. Nice pickin 'grinder'. |
| Sep-28-15 | | sydbarrett: I bet $3200 on Giri as "winner" a few days ago. But I also bet $500 on Svidler in game 1 as insurance. Hence my recent rise ("Game 1 Svidler as black beats l00ser noob Giri!") and fall, lol. I could have neutralized part of the "fall" by bidding $3000 on "draw" for today's Svidler-Giri game. But I only put $900 on draw. I hoped Giri would pull off a miracle win today and go on to the win the series so I can make money on both Svidler AND Giri. ;-) |
| Sep-28-15 | | sydbarrett: I will never trust punk Giri to come through on that much cash ever again. ;-) |

Sep-29-15
 | | Chessgames Bookie: Oh guys, I should've mentioned this earlier, but I just remembered I have an appointment in the late afternoon/early evening today/tonight (Tue/Sep/29/2015), and as a result, <expect payoffs to be even later than usual>. As for the next round's bets, you guys seem to be good at creating a large pool no matter how little time I give you (assuming the bets are interesting), but I'm going to put up a couple of "general" bets, just in case. For example, predicting the winner of the finals:
One option will be Svidler. "Karjakin/Eljanov" will a temporary placeholder, meaning that if you bet on that line, you are betting on Karjakin or Eljanov (whoever advances) to win it all. If it sounds confusing, I understand (it's most certainly not the first time it's happened). You can always wait 'till I get home to properly set up the bets. :) Thanks for your patience, and sorry for any inconvenience. - Penguin |

Sep-29-15
 | | FSR: Go Eljanov! |
| Sep-29-15 | | sydbarrett: I put 5000 on Karjakin. I had nothing to lose really. :) If he falls, see you all in the next leg in a few days. |
Sep-29-15
 | | FSR: Looks like Karjakin is carjackin' Rapid Game 2 after losing Rapid Game 1. Damn. Sid must be having an orgasm. |
Sep-29-15
 | | FSR: And now Karjakin is winning Rapid Game 3. Sigh. |
| Sep-29-15 | | WinKing: Ooops! Draw by repetition. Eljanov should have won to put it into a tiebreaker. |
| Sep-29-15 | | WinKing: Three fold repetition. How does a GM miss that? |
Sep-29-15
 | | FSR: I had over 2500 bet on Eljanov, so that'll cost me dearly. |
Sep-29-15
 | | SwitchingQuylthulg: <Penguincw> Tomorrow is a rest day, right? |
