That's in the 'Daily Double' <WannaBe> along with Hou - Karjakin.

Chessgames Bookie: <WannaBe: We need an "EPIC GAME" bet!! Either 1. Yes/No bet, or 2. Pick the round that will happen, or it will not happen.>

I didn't want to flood the market <WannaBe>. We will surely have those eventually. It's a loooonnng season. :)

Jan-16-16  Karposian: I see the point in not flooding the market, but I must say I miss the 'Daily Triple', and I don't think I'm alone in this. I hope there will be some of those during Tata Steel.

Also, I think we should get the opportunity to play on any singular game, including those who make up the Daily Doubles and Triples.

Definitely.

<...Also, I think we should get the opportunity to play on any singular game, including those who make up the Daily Doubles and Triples.>

I consider that flooding the market with all the other bets that were up there for Round 1. *But* there will be times I put up all 7 games. :)

  Penguincw: First instance of "cross-breeding":

< 34. martin moller 2,465 >

The non-qualifiers are coming. There wee 34 qualifiers, and a non-qualifier now occupies the 34th parallel.

To keep track of the leaderboard excluding the qualifiers, please see here: User: Penguincw.

Jan-19-16  wallytherhino: <Penguincw>

If you are top 10 in the non qualifying standings are their prizes?

Jan-19-16
Premium Chessgames Member
Penguincw: Depends. If you are also in the top 10 overall, then maybe (depends on how many prizes <cg> will give).

But if you mean top 10 without qualifiers only, then no. This leaderboard is just to see how the non-qualifiers do against each other.

This isn't any kind of landmark at all, <Penguin>. Your "top non-qualifier" is still only in the 2k's. Just because one of the qualifiers went all-in early and crashed, is no achievement by the non-qualifiers. :)

You can start talking about non-qualifier achievements when they start mingling at least with the lower-end-but-not-quite-crashed group of qualifiers (say with a net worth of about 6000-7000 or so, as the top group starts expanding in both directions.

Jan-19-16  sydbarrett: My first comment in months. :D I haven't checked this board in months. Um, I will destroy all of you? :P I'll make a go of it. FSR being a lazy one this leg. Throwing away his $9000 gift.
Jan-19-16  sydbarrett: I think every game was a draw or something just 36 hours ago. Knocked me down to $7900 or something like that. I really thought I could be out of this leg early, but I put $2000(!) on Mamedyarov to draw since so much cash was put on Carlsen to win cleanly. Thought it was a clear injustice to Mr. Mamedyarov who I knew could at least draw the Golden Boy.

The bet came through and now I'm pumped and back in the chase... If I win this cold winter leg, I dedicate the victory to David Bowie. ;-)

Annie K.: <WinKing> it's your leg, but I hope you will be a responsible forum administrator as well as a great Bookie.
Jan-19-16  Karposian: Hello everyone. Just a reminder that everyone is warmly welcome to discuss all matters of the Chessbookie Game on my chessforum, Karposian chessforum, which is a forum started by <Penguincw> and me, dedicated to the Chessbookie game and this exciting Championship Leg.

Needless to say, the natural place to post anything that is directly pertaining to the game, like questions to the bookie, general support and information etc., would still be here in the official forum, but on my forum page you are all free to discuss everything you like regarding the Chessbookie game.

<Penguincw> and I decided to organize an "unofficial" forum because there were complaints that this page was too filled with general non-relevant chatter. If the current bookie is more open to allow "chit-chat", then perhaps another chessbookie forum will eventually turn out to be superfluous, time will tell.

Anyway, that is of course entirely up to the bookie/admin. I certainly understand and respect the former bookie's point of view, but I also noticed that there have been times in the past where more general chatter was allowed here.

I would especially like to say to <syd>, come on over to my forum! The former bookie's opinion was that you posted too much here, well, all I can say is that you (and everyone else) are welcome to post as much as you like on my "unofficial" chessbookie page. So, feel free to drop in and chat with us! All are welcome.

Don't worry <Annie K.> if someone like <sydbarrett> starts to get out of hand we'll deal with it. Go easy <syd> this is a family show.
