Penguincw: < Annie K.: ... This isn't any kind of landmark at all, <Penguin>. Your "top non-qualifier" is still only in the 2k's. Just because one of the qualifiers went all-in early and crashed, is no achievement by the non-qualifiers. :)

You can start talking about non-qualifier achievements when they start mingling at least with the lower-end-but-not-quite-crashed group of qualifiers (say with a net worth of about 6000-7000 or so, as the top group starts expanding in both directions. >

Yes, I understand, but for any non-qualifier wanting to win it all, 1 down, 33 to go. ;)

A non-qualfiier isn't going to be in contention overnight. They'll have to slowly progress upward.

But yes, as soon as I legit have to do work to calculate the non-qualifier leaderboard, that's when I know it'll have mingled.

I think last leg, the highest non-qualifier finished in 18th, which might be the only time ever there was no non-qualifier in the top 10, though don't take my word for it.

Jan-19-16  sydbarrett: Alright, thanks for the warm welcome back, Karposian. I never mean to be offensive, but at times in the past I might have certainly overposted and it was not to some of the sensibilities here. ;-) In any case, my posting interests are more moderate now, so there's no need for anyone to be alarmed, I would believe.
Jan-19-16  sydbarrett: Anyways, just thought I'd write a bit for fun. I have every intention of winning, so play your best. ;-) Good luck to all

A couple of years ago <Chenebelgrind> made the greatest performance of all times, being a non-qualifier and winning it all.

Hi <Mark>. Next round my man. I think the match-ups are a little better for a pick 3 in Round 6. Hang in there it's comin'.

I've taken the amounts of the bets out but how come I have 2 bets on the same game?? There's something gone wrong.

You mean you have two *separate tickets* with the same result(Draw) for the same game. Do I have it right <MarkFinan>?

SwitchingQuylthulg: <MarkFinan> That's a rare but not unprecedented bug. Did you only place one bet that was somehow duplicated, or did you place two separate bets that were not merged together?

If you're not happy with having the extra bet, report the problem to Daniel Freeman; he's sorted out things like this before. (The Bookie won't be able to do anything about it, apart from prodding people who can.)

Thanks <Switch>. That's what I was going to do get in touch with <DF>.

I think that problem happened to me a few years back if I recall correctly.

Chessgames Bookie: I will give the score on the 'Knights vs. Bishops' bet in Round 8 after all 7 of the games have been completed. Just to give you an idea there were no knights or bishops left on three of the seven boards in Round 7. On the remaining 4 boards there were 6 Knights & 5 Bishops. The Knights won a 'squeaker' over the Bishops in Round 7.
Jan-23-16  MarkFinan: <Tata Steel 2016 Round 7: Caruana - Ding : Draw [discard ticket] 125 LOSE 4:7 1.56 -- Jan-23-16 Tata Steel 2016 Round 7: Caruana - Ding : Draw [discard ticket]>

I "only" put 500 on the draw. I know it's only 125 cb's but that 125 would put me in the 11k club and I never put the 125 on in the first place!

So I have to email Daniel over 125 cb's?

Either you or me. I emailed Daniel for you <Mark>. Just be patient as I don't know how long it will take him to get back to you. I can't change anything from here. I don't have that 'God' power. ;)

SwitchingQuylthulg: <WinKing> What happens if Knights vs. Bishops is a tie?
Jan-23-16  MarkFinan: Thank you Mr chessbookie, much appreciated. No rush as long as it's sorted at some point.
Jan-23-16  WinKing: <SwitchingQuylthulg: <WinKing> What happens if Knights vs. Bishops is a tie?>

I guess I'll have to refund the bet. Forgot to put tie on the ticket. Let's hope there is no tie.

Chessgames Bookie: It has been brought to my attention that a mistake was made by me in the Knights vs. Bishops Round 8 bet. There is no 'tie' pick in the choices for the bet. There is just 'More Knights' or 'More Bishops' to select from. **In the event of a 'tie' between the Knights & Bishops all bets will be refunded because of this mistake.** The bet will still be paid if either Knights or Bishops win the bet.

Here is an opportunity for the bettor to make a bet without fear of a tie taking him or her down. Be assured this mistake will not happen again. Take advantage while you can.

Chessgames Bookie: The Round 8 battle between 'more knights' or 'more bishops' was won by the bishops - 9(bishops) to 6(knights). More bishops were on the 7 boards in the final positions. Thanks to those that played in this contest.
