Apr-04-06  MaCa: <<MaCa: Question: Will PAL/CSS Freestyle Chess Tournament finals be listed as an event?> Can anybody find an official site on this event?>

I quess they play it in playchess.com server, so I don't think it gets much more official than chessbase or playchess...

WannaBe: Campora-Burmakin is a draw... Winner here... Winner!!

(Finally I won something... =)

Chessgames Bookie: <Ezzy> Your math is wrong, you are confusing the gross return with the profit. It would take a bet over 1000 chessbucks to have made 540 chessbucks on today's draw. Fortune favors the bold!
Apr-04-06  MaCa: <Fortune favors the bold!>

Sure, just cashed my 7 chessbucks winning ticket! (cough it up, buddy :) ).

The handle was pretty small, so I never waited for any big winning, but I should have betted just a bit more

Apr-04-06  dakgootje: < It would take a bet over 1000 chessbucks to have made 540 chessbucks on today's draw> Yes indeed, if my calculation were right you needed for that profit to have made a bet of 1080 chessbucks...

then now how did User: Guesswho make a profit of 540 chessbucks???

Apr-04-06  nsteinme: Guesswho must have taken out a loan, and then put the 1080 down on the draw.

Sneaky: Waaaaaaaah!!! I lost my first bets :( It's OK I'll be back. I'm still a long way from requiring loanshark services.

WannaBe: I'm not sure if that top leaderboard is to mean who is the best handicapper, or who gambles the most! :-)
Apr-04-06  you vs yourself: How did some of you guys bet on amber results? Wasn't this forum started just 3 days ago?

Sneaky: In poker tournaments there's always some cowboy who goes all-in on the very first hand and wins. He ends up in the #1 spot, briefly, before the people with real skill overtake him.
Apr-04-06  suenteus po 147: <you vs yourself> There was a beta test of this game by a dozen users or so in secret earlier this year.
Apr-04-06  you vs yourself: <suenteus po 147> Thanks! That explains some of the odd posts here.
Apr-04-06  Ezzy: For somebody to take out a loan and add it to their 1000 chessbucks and recklessly gamble it all on one event, makes me think that <Guesswho> is a creation from somebody who has multiple accounts. How can you stop people doing this. My main concern is that these cheats can seriously affect the betting odds, and potentially be allowed to abuse this fantastic new game. Perhaps I'm over reacting, but it does seem to be a potential problem.

WannaBe: Now, if I can figure out how to create multiple acct. and then transfer the money into one acct... :-)

Chessgames Bookie: Let us worry about that Ezzy. We've been watching the logfiles waiting for somebody to try something sleazy but so far it's been an honest game. "Guesswho" is a premium user who's been using the site for over two years. Reckless? Probably. Dishonest? No.

Chessgames Bookie: We opened up a betting line for Dos Hermanas: Rd 7: Burmakin-Milov
Apr-04-06  Ezzy: <"Guesswho" is a premium user who's been using the site for over two years. Reckless? Probably. Dishonest? No.> Sorry if I gave the impression that <Guesswho> was dishonest. I am certainly not suggesting they are. I was suggesting that people who create multiple accounts are dishonest and could possibly have used <guesswho> as one of these accounts.

<....but so far it's been an honest game.> It certainly has, and what a fantastic game it is.

<....Let us worry about that Ezzy> Ok. I will leave the sleaze to you guys. Now I can concentrate fully on my gambling. :-)

WannaBe: Vladimir Burmakin has one game in database, there are 2 milovs, Vadim Milov and Vadim Milov

The home page (www.chessgame.com) doesn't have a tournament page for this event, and the official site http://www.doshermanas.net/index.asp isn't English. I tried to see which Milov it is, and still can't figure out!

Arrrrrrrrrrggggghhhh... How am I suppose to handicapp these 2 players?!

Chessgames Bookie: WannaBe, I don't know what you're talking about, Vladimir Burmakin has 252 games and there's only one Vadim Milov.

WannaBe: oops... mistake on milov... the other one is Leonid Milov

Don't know what I was looking at earlier on the Burmakin...

Maybe a bunch of games just "appeared"... :-)

Oh, there's that friendly guy with the baseball bat again....

cu8sfan: <WannaBe: <cu8sfan> Errrrr... thought you're Swiss?> I said <in German> not <in Germany>. Switzerland has four languages and only one of them is spoken in Switzerland only. That's Romansh. The other languages are Italian, French and German. Swiss German actually, which is a dialect. Check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Switze....

WannaBe: <cu8sfan> Errrrr.... Apologies, misread your post.

You guys have any mountains in Switzerland?! (Just kidding, just kidding... =)
