Apr-05-06  dakgootje: <You guys have any mountains in Switzerland?!> Nah they dont, whole country is made of bank accounts ;-)

Ow and for the Milov's: In the part of where you can bet on the winner there stands GM Milov. Only Vadim is a GM, Leonid is 'only' an IM

Apr-05-06  MaCa: That MTel Masters handle is crazy! more than a month to go, and already more than 30,000 chessbucks in...
Apr-05-06  Ezzy: <Guesswho: ...goiing to loanshark right now,see you> See you, and best of luck! Enjoy your 15 minutes of fame. :-)

Apr-05-06  refutor: question regarding odds...is the "juice" taken off before or after the odds are calculated? if it's after, how long before it's possible for topalov to win the match with nisipeanu and have the people who voted for topalov still lose money?

Chessgames Bookie: The odds displayed already have the juice factored in. if it says odds of 1.15 that's what you'll get. In events without multiple winners, the "projected payout" will be 100% accurate.

Furthermore, it's impossible to win a bet and lose money--in the worst possible case you'll get your money back.

Apr-05-06  dakgootje: Yup you cant lose anything as the bookie only takes the juice of the profit, and not of the total ammount of betted money. Though i think i calculated with my previous calculation for how much you had to have stacked for the previous game that the bookie got the juice after it was clear which bet was right, instead of that it was calculating already in the odds.

WannaBe: Is it a grapefruit juice? Apple juice? Orange juice? a stick of juicy fruit gum? What kind of juice we talking here?! Inquiring minds wants to know.

Chessgames Bookie: For the meaning of "juice" and other bookie terms, see the ChessBookie Game Glossary.
Apr-05-06  percyblakeney: Burmakin-Milov can be followed at the live games section here, looks best for Burmakin at the moment:

http://www.doshermanas.net/

Apr-05-06  dakgootje: Burmakin has won, Milov just resigned
Apr-05-06  percyblakeney: Burmakin sure is a surprise in Dos Hermanas, he's much more than 100 ELO points lower rated than the top ranked players but still has 6.5/7.
Apr-05-06  dakgootje: I wacthed his game versus Milov at playchess.com... Milov playing black was just thrown of the board, twas a very nice game to see (even though i didnt bet on Burmakin ;-)

WannaBe: <avion> have 2370 bucks?! Wow...
Apr-05-06  refutor: is there anyway to tell how much cash someone who's not in the top 12 has? for instance, i have a relative on here who is playing the game and i'm curious how much cash he has
Apr-05-06  dakgootje: Im going nice, lost twice so far, so i have a perfect 2/2 score if you look at losing chessbucks ;-)

Chessgames Bookie: <refutor> Just look up their user record--there's a new feature on user pages. E.g. User: Avion is in the lead right now. (Note: we may move the standings box to a place less conspicuous in the future.)

That special area with my smiling mug shows up on any user page if the net worth is not 1000. Therefore if you don't see the standings, you can assume they have neither won nor lost bets (or possible broke even). In the future the standings area will report "2007 CHAMPIONSHIP CANDIDATE" for the lucky participants who qualify.

Chessgames Bookie: <all> Betting is open on Game #1 of the Topalov-Niisipeanu match. We also opened a betting line on which opening will be played. Good luck to all.
Apr-05-06  nsteinme: People bet money on Nisipeanu for the european championship, but he's playing topalov right now...
Apr-05-06  percyblakeney: After seven (of nine) rounds in Dos Hermanas:

Burmakin 6.5
Cheparinov 6
Eight players 5.5

Burmakin-Cheparinov on the top board in round 8.

Winner, Took Niisipeanu.

Chessgames Bookie: The official site for the European Championship removed Nisipeanu's name from the roster. All bets on Nisipeanu for that event have been refunded.
Apr-06-06  dakgootje: <That special area with my smiling mug shows up on any user page if the net worth is not 1000.> Ahhhhhhhh thats pity, not everyone can enjoy how im losing my chessbucks ;-)

*starts looking for an other fellow who has less bucks atm*

Apr-06-06  percyblakeney: <*starts looking for an other fellow who has less bucks atm*>

Look no further, I've got 410 :-)

Apr-06-06  dakgootje: <Look no further, I've got 410 :-) >
