Apr-06-06  percyblakeney: I'm rich, I'm rich! Over 500 now!
Apr-06-06  AdrianP: <Chessbookie> Krasenkow does not seem to be participating in the EU Champs. I'd like a refund. Please.
Apr-06-06  dakgootje: Brilliant: i keep losing, glad i dont do this with real money ;-)
Apr-06-06  refutor: how often do the stats update? hourly?

WannaBe: Bad day handicapping yesterday, lost both. :-(
Gonna try Topalov & Sicilian as bets.
Apr-06-06  GeauxCool: <Chessgames Bookie> How did Avion get 2,370 already, when the first offered bet has yet to be paid out?

Apr-06-06  GeauxCool: I guess I am mistaken. I placed a bet the first day this was offered. The match I bet on was listed at the top, naturally I assumed this would be the first game paid off...blah blah blah.

WannaBe: <GeauxCool> You know you have to cash in your ticket?
Apr-06-06  GeauxCool: <WannaBe> Hello. Thanks for letting me know.

I thought I placed all of the money on a draw for the first game. I was pretty excited to see the results when I should have had 2,700. Nope. My bet was recorded for the entire 4 round match, draw. Draw?!?!?!

You know what? I'll probably have a laugh about this one, so ridiculous.

So goodbye from a bitter better. My stay will end Apr 09.

Actually, there's no hard feelings Bookie, enjoy the fake computer money, don't spend all the cache at one place!

Thanks again Wannabe for the tip.

  WannaBe: You're leaving us?
Apr-06-06  percyblakeney: Draw in the Cheparinov game, nice :-)
Apr-06-06  GeauxCool: <Wannabe> Of course! I'll be broke Apr 09!
Apr-06-06  dakgootje: <<Wannabe> Of course! I'll be broke Apr 09!> Ah lucky you, im broke MUCH earlier if i keep losing this way, lost all of them so far =)
Apr-06-06  dakgootje: Huh... i posted that comments...come back some time later after posting some more, and look at my own profile for no particular reason... and i see i had more chessbucks then before... not understanding this i go to the bookiegame-page and i saw i did win a bet! Now ive only lost 4 out of 5! Im brilliant! ;-)
Apr-06-06  GeauxCool: Hello <dakgootje> I think my misfortune gave you good luck!
Apr-06-06  AdrianP: <PercyB> That must have been a big bet you had on the draw!
Apr-06-06  percyblakeney: <AdrianP> All I had left! :-) If Cheparinov won he'd give me 550 as tournament winner, so it felt reasonably possible that something would get right this time...
Apr-06-06  percyblakeney: With one round to go in Dos Hermanas:

Burmakin 7
Cheparinov 6.5
Matamoros 6.5
Handke 6.5
Milov and seven others 6

Last round:
Matamoros-Burmakin
Cheparinov-Handke

Handke is "only" 2474. A short draw in Matamoros-Burmakin and a win for Cheparinov looks probable in the last round.

Apr-06-06  Chess Classics: <chessgames bookie> Can you confirm that at no point is it neccessary to pay back the loanshark? Also that debts are cleared at the end of the leg? Thanks!

Regards,
CC

Chessgames Bookie: <how often do the stats update? hourly?> No; they update daily at around 5:00am EDT. However lately we've been recomputing the standings in the middle of the day just for fun. It says on the leaderboard when they were last computed.

<chess classics> You don't have to pay back the loanshark, but it may help your standings to get out of debt, since the interest on a loan will adversely affect your net worth. At the end of the leg all is forgiven and everybody starts 100% fresh for the new leg with 1000 chessbucks and no debt.

Apr-07-06  naamloos: lost again. I had seen that Topalov usually does not play e4 against players who play the Sicilian, but I had thought that Nisipeauna would play benoni or nimzo-indian.

cu8sfan: Too bad. Odds for Matamoros were so great on the Dos Hermanas: Rd9: Matamoros-Burmakin bet and someone comes along and ruins it...
Apr-07-06  percyblakeney: A draw would be enough for Burmakin to ensure at least shared first (and with good chances of being sole winner), so my guess is that he won't press hard to win with black...
Apr-07-06  dakgootje: Odd... Always when ive betted on some game, the next day i dont know anymore on who've betted, just though that i had lost on todays game because they didnt play the ruy lopez... and then i saw i won because i didnt bet on that one but on the 'all others' and thus i did win... but i didnt remember... =S
Apr-07-06  percyblakeney: It's a better odds on that Matamoros win again after my 400 on a draw :-)
