Apr-08-16  WinKing: Here are a couple articles on Li Chao being Karjakin's replacement at Norway:

http://norwaychess.no/en/2016/04/08...

https://hunonchess.com/li-chao-comp...

Apr-08-16  WinKing: So Karjakin withdraws from Norway saying he has to prepare for the World Champioship next year. They find a replacement, Li Chao, who is supposed to be getting married soon(next week?). He says ok & postpones his wedding. You can't make this stuff up folks. Who says the chess world isn't like a soap opera?
Apr-08-16  WinKing: Just as expected the money will now start piling up on Li Chao for the 'Pick the winner' bet. lol

Chessgames Bookie: I am waiting for pairings from the Bangkok Chess Club(Thai Open). We may or may not have games posted from Round 1 depending on how soon they post them.

Chessgames Bookie: There have been no pairings posted for the Thai Open as I write this. There are less than 7 hrs left until Round 1 begins. Looks like we will not be posting games for Round 1 as not enough time will be allowed for proper betting on the games. We'll see what later Rounds bring.

Could be they are still taking late registrations for the Open(Round 1) & will not post pairings until the last minute. This is just a guess of course.

Chessgames Bookie: The U.S. Championship is only a few days away. I would have games posted already but there are no pairings available yet. I'm guessing they will post pairings sometime after the Opening Ceremony which takes place Wednesday, April 13 @ 18:30 hrs. CDT(GMT-6).

I will have some games posted as soon as the pairings are available. Round 1 games begin on Thursday, April 14 @ 13:00 hrs.(14:00 hrs chessgames time). There may not be a lot of time to get your Round 1 bets in. Just giving everyone a heads-up.

Chessgames Bookie: Well it is 6am EDT the morning of the first day of the U.S. Championship & we still have no pairings. There is now less than 8hrs till it begins. You would think they are guarding the gold at Fort Knox the way they hide those pairings. Be prepared for very short notice to place your bets on the first round all.

Chessgames Bookie: In the 16th Bangkok Chess Club Open both GM's Ganguly & Vallejo Pons ended up with 7.5 pts. out of 9(7.5/9). According to the tie-break that was in place GM Ganguly was awarded first prize:

http://chess-results.com/tnr215394....

It came down to the second Tie Break(TB2) GM Ganguly 53.5 to GM Vallejo Pons 52.5.

I will wait a bit to pay off the bet in order to make sure these results are correct.

Apr-17-16  Karposian: <It came down to the second Tie Break(TB2) GM Ganguly 53.5 to GM Vallejo Pons 52.5.>

Ouch! If Vallejo Pons had won the tie break, I would have won 600+ cbs, instead with Ganguly winning I'm gonna lose almost 2k.

These tie break rules suck :)

Apr-17-16  WinKing: <Karposian: These tie break rules suck :)>

Depends upon which side of the fence you are on! ;)
