| Apr-08-17 | | sydbarrett: I was winning and winning so much, that I've gotten tired of winning. I can't take so much winning, so I've decided to let someone else win this time. |
|
| Apr-08-17 | | centralfiles: I'm going to make an educated guess someone has 100 cb on akobian, that could be worth nearly 27000 cb if it pays.
So who is it?
its also hard to know if any single player has a large bet on Onishuk but if there is a single player with say 40 cb on that ticket that would give him a 30k cb payoff this could be a real at the buzzer comeback for someone. |
|
| Apr-08-17 | | sydbarrett: Yes, I have purposefully ceded my crown to one of the others. They are all out to get you now. Beware... |
|
Apr-09-17
 | | Annie K.: Yeah, sure you did. :p
The very last bets of the leg are up - make the most of them, folks! PS - WRT U.S. Championship Playoffs: Decisive Stage - The chess24 relay (including the one embedded as the official site's live relay) doesn't currently show a blitz stage, but the official site's Regulations page (http://uschesschamps.com/2017-us-ch...) says <A combination of rapid, blitz and armageddon games shall be used to break any tie for 1st place.> |
|
| Apr-09-17 | | centralfiles: <Yes, I have purposefully ceded my crown to one of the others. They are all out to get you now. Beware...> Looks more like they all decided to give me a break and let me have it.
Maybe they just didn't like you all that much... |
|
| Apr-10-17 | | WinKing: <Annie K.:The chess24 relay (including the one embedded as the official site's live relay) doesn't currently show a blitz stage, but the official site's Regulations page (http://uschesschamps.com/2017-us-ch...) says <A combination of rapid, blitz and armageddon games shall be used to break any tie for 1st place.>> Hi <Annie K.>. I've been trying to figure that out myself. At chess24 it shows Playoff R1, R2 & Armageddon. There is a 70 min. gap shown between R1 & R2. Then there is a 70 min. gap shown between R2 & Armageddon. My thinking is there will be two rapid games in R1 then 2(or more?) blitz games in R2. I can't see them just having 2 rapid games with 70 min. gaps like that but who knows? Just my 2 cents worth. |
|
Apr-10-17
 | | Annie K.: <WinKing> yeah, I considered that interpretation too, but it's not the usual chess24 structure. Plus knowledgeable-sounding posters there have been saying that the playoffs will be two rapids + Armageddon, and they had the time controls too, which the main site also doesn't state - so I don't know where they got their info, but at this point I'm inclined to go with it. :) |
|
| Apr-10-17 | | WinKing: I hear you <Annie K.>. This is one of those situations where your 'damned if you do, damned if you don't'. No matter what you do the opposite will surely happen. ;) |
|
Apr-10-17
 | | Annie K.: :) Well, considering that the supposed rapid time controls are 25 5 (per side, of course), the 70 minute spacing makes pretty good sense. But it sure is annoying when organizers won't keep to their own tiebreak regulations on the last day of a leg. ;s |
|
| Apr-10-17 | | WinKing: I just read through the chat & tweets <Annie K.> & I also saw 25 minute + 5 (delay) games as the format. That would explain the 70 min gaps. The longer rapid time controls are being used apparently. If that fails to produce a winner then Armageddon. Why they don't have this listed somewhere on the official site is beyond me. |

Apr-10-17
 | | Annie K.: <WinKing> You'd think keeping the internet public informed is not at the top of their priorities. Oh well. :s Anyways, ready to take over the reins soon? Remember, you only have to cover really important events, don't spoil this crowd too much! ;p To give you an idea, if this weren't the Championship Leg, where we do, after all, want to offer enough action to give the regular players a decent chance against the qualifiers, I don't think I would have even covered Aeroflot or Shenzen. Heh, you run your leg the way you want to, but don't burn yourself out. Good Bookies are getting hard to come by. :) |
|
| Apr-10-17 | | WinKing: <Anyways, ready to take over the reins soon?> You bet!
<Remember, you only have to cover really important events, don't spoil this crowd too much! ;p> They're already spoiled. ;) |

And of course thanks to Annie for all the time and effort. |

Apr-11-17
 | | Penguincw: Thanks for running the leg <Annie>. Much appreciated. I had fun in my first ever Championship leg as a qualifier. However, I ended up playing passively as always. I was at 10th with days to go, but failed to capitalized on the tons of cash that was to be made. Congrats to <centralfiles> for winning the Leg, and to the other qualifiers, and see you in a few days. |

Apr-11-17
