This is it folks last day of the Spring Leg is tomorrow! If you have a strategy to move up in the standings now is the time to employ it.

Good luck to all!!!

I wouldn't miss it for the world Mr Bookie :) I'm in 10th spot now, when does this leg end because I'm supposed to be changing usernames and I can't use both?

Is it too late or still possible for you to finish Leuven just 2 days from now? Or at least have two more bets: GCT Leuven Blitz and GCT Leuven Champ? I know I'm completely out of the running but both are significant chess events and are guaranteed to generate heavy betting.

Chessgames Bookie: <scout118: Is it too late or still possible for you to finish Leuven just 2 days from now?>

Sorry <scout118>. The <chessgames> administration decided to end the leg on time for a change. I was willing to go longer but it is not my call.

Jun-30-17  scout118: <Chessgames Bookie> No prob. Thanks btw for an excellent leg.

I'm sure DF, a businessman, has nothing to do with this decision. It just absolutely doesn't make sense for the leg to end in the middle of a major chess event, like leaving after the first act of a play.

Chessgames Bookie: The Spring Leg is now officially over. I will let <chessgames> know so they can look everything over. We can then congratulate the winner.
Jun-30-17  User not found: If I'd read your reply last night I wouldn't have bet today... I came 11th! Lol. Oh well.. Let's see if Doctor Winston O'Boogie can do any better next leg :)

FSR: Thanks to the <Chessgames Bookie> for an extremely well-run competition! And congratulations to <sydbarrett> for a brilliant victory, winning by almost 11,000 cb! I don't know how you do it!
Jun-30-17  User not found: Cuddlebumps! "You only sing when you're winning, sing when you're winnnning..only sing when you're winning" Lol. Congratulations to punk rock guy.

"Lucky. You are" - Yoda;)

Jun-30-17  Boomie: I qualified two years in a row which proves that the scum also rises.
Jun-30-17  sydbarrett: Um, Syd Barrett is not punk rock.
Thanks Freddy. I hope you make it more challenging for me next time around, because in all honesty, it got a little anti-climatic near the end for me, not having any legitimate contenders and all. Were you holding back? :(

But more seriously, I hope you all had fun as well. It's always nice to have an extra incentive to watch live GM games from time to time, even as I go about my daily routines.

Being in my 30s, maybe I'll never quite reach GM-level myself, but perhaps there's still reason to follow the professional level of the game after all. ;-)

And yea, the bookie for this leg was really into it, indeed. Very cool.

Chessgames Bookie: Congratulations on a well played Spring Leg <sydbarrett>! You ran away from the pack & never looked back. I probably should have waited till <chessgames> confirms that all is copacetic but who knows how long that will take. Anyhow well done <syd>!

Also, congratulations to all those who finished in the top ten!

FSR: <sydbarrett> Actually, I was trying to finish 9th in two consecutive legs of the ChessBookie game (the Championship Leg and this leg), and achieved that amazing feat! As you can see by examining the ChessBookie Hall of Fame, no one else has ever done that!

Well, OK, truth be told, I didn't really <set out> to do that.

lol..you have made me smile <FSR>. Make it three in a row & I will truly be impressed. ;)

Jul-01-17  Boomie: <FSR>

Didn't we get in last year on a technicality when the Bookie went wonky? If so, your record will always come with an asterisk.
