Chessgames Bookie: Hi moronovich, I'm jingohanson, the new Bookie. The Pick two is for day four of the event, with the games I posted. Sorry about the confusion. I should have put (Day 4) in the description. Thanks for welcoming me. Your suggestions are welcome. Ciao, jingohanson

Penguincw: Wait. I thought tomorrow (Thursday) was a Rest Day for Tata Steel Masters? If so, why are the bets closing Thursday morning (currently 7-8 hours from now).

I guess they'll end up re-opening anyway.

Jan-24-18  WinKing: A good way to get the betting goin' early hehehe. I'll have to remember to try that. ;)

Annie K.: Aha... I forgot they like to take it REALLY easy at Tata. ;p

OK, I'm reopening the bets for another day. :)

FSR: <Annie K.> Since the tournament is still so wide open (Carlsen, Giri and Mamedyarov 10, Kramnik 9.5, Anand 9, etc.), could you please consider an <In-Tournament Winner> bet for Tata Steel? Thanks!

Annie K.: Sure, why not. :)

  FSR: <Annie K.> Thank you!
Jan-27-18  technical draw: Someone is betting recklessly on this last round of Tata Steel. Now I only have to find a way to take advantage of it.
Jan-28-18  centralfiles: when is the next tournament?

FSR: Not a good day (unlike yesterday, when everything clicked and I gained about 2,000 chessbucks). Today I lost 29 out of 29 bets. Easy come, easy go.

Annie K.: Well, the "next tournament" is the currently ongoing Tradewise Gibraltar. Unfortunately, they simply don't publish pairings in advance, so the most I can do is set up an In-Play Winner bet in another day or two, depending on whether there will be any point in one.

After Gibraltar, we're on vacation until the start of Aeroflot on Feb 20, but from there to the end of the leg there will be quite a bit of action - be sure to follow the Announcement section on the main Bookie page.

Jan-28-18  centralfiles: can we get anything on tradwise?
maybe some generic bets
will so and so win his next round?
will black win in top five boards

what will be the longest game?

what openings will we see etc etc

Jan-28-18  centralfiles: Its just that i basically lost all my cbs but Im still holding onto a sizable loan if i need to to wait a few weeks im basically out if i can bet out i can still try.

Annie K.: In-Play Winner bet is now up.

We'll also have PayDay, sometime around Feb 10-15, and I'll probably open a line or two then to allow late joiners to bet on something - TCEC started a new season, so I can always find some interesting pairing there. :)

Mind you, given recent developments, a computer championship without AlphaZero is about as toothless an idea as holding a Women's Championship without Yifan Hou... oh, wait, that happens all the time too. Never mind, then. ;p

Jan-29-18  centralfiles: can we try how many of the 1st 10 boards will be decisive games?
Jan-29-18

Annie K.: Maybe in the last round. :)
Feb-04-18  truepacifism: ok, things are slow here, perhpas because of the super bowl????
Feb-04-18  truepacifism: woops I invented a new word
Feb-04-18  wallytherhino: looks like we have a close race for making the top 10 in this event:

(10) Tomlinsky 11,988
(11) beatgiant 11,248

Feb-08-18  zborris8: Are any bets planned for the 960 match?
Feb-08-18

Annie K.: What match would that be? Link plz.
Feb-09-18  WinKing: Pairings for the Candidates 2018:

Feb-10-18  technical draw: I'm having withdrawal symptoms because I haven't had a bet in a long time. Maybe I'll join CBA. (Chess Bookie Anonymous)
