Annie K.: <WinKing> Okay, we'll do it that way. Thanks. :)

So we have a decision: The Championship Leg will end on April 9, with the end of the Grenke Chess Classic. Then everybody can admire the final standings for a while, ;) and then around the 15th or so, <WinKing> can open the Spring Leg with winner bets on the US Championship and the Gashimov Memorial. :)

I'll update Grenke on the Announcement events list soon.

<FSR> thanks for the recaps. Would you like to join us and try your hand at running this game now and then, maybe? ;)

Mar-13-18  centralfiles: Adhiban Yilmaz and Eljanov won Sarin and Suri drew.
Mar-15-18  centralfiles: Don't forget to pay out the pick 3.

  Annie K.: Good point :D
Mar-16-18  wordfunph: in round 6, 10 out of 12 leaders lost chessbucks.

<Count> took a day off and <titikiza> was the sole gainer.

goodluck!

Mar-17-18  Count Wedgemore: <wordfunph> Seems like taking the day off was not a bad idea :)

FSR: Kramnik, as always in this tournament, goes for the win from a position where anyone else would have taken a draw. Hopefully this means a Ding win . . . .
Mar-18-18  centralfiles: Moro is back...

FSR: Kramnik has been trying valiantly to find a way to lose, but it does not look like he will succeed.
Mar-19-18  wordfunph: ...and now <moro> pads his lead.

Mar-22-18  technical draw: Congratulations <FSR>. You are a real old timer.'

There is really a lot of heavy betting on the Ding-So bet today.

beatgiant: Pardon me, butt... the action on the European Individual Championship... hasn't Round 6 been played already? I just noticed that after placing a bet. Have I gone crazy or turned into a time traveler?

What am I missing? We are offered bets on round 6 Bok-Nabaty and Wojtaszek-Saric. On the chess24 relay, both of these games are showing as already completed, with all the moves and the results published.

Of course, I could say nothing more and bet my entire wad on those outcomes. Or maybe I should use the power for good, as in the old TV series "Early Edition" ;-)

Annie K.: Oh, really? I thought it was supposed to be a rest day. Thanks for the heads-up, everybody... I'll just have to ask Daniel to refund all bets placed after 07:00 EST. :/

Annie K.: OK, Daniel refunded all tickets placed after starting time, and I paid off all the rest. Too bad about the rest day mixup, but on the upside there's still plenty of action left in this leg... ;)

FSR: Astonishing. Ding is failing to win the most crushing position ever seen in the history of chess - thereby costing me 1,018 chessbucks. Sigh.
Mar-23-18  centralfiles: after quickly falling all the way down to 453 at the beginning ot the leg i've finally made it back where i started so I should be ripe for another fall...

Penguincw: In contrast, I have managed to net a few hundred bucks from the Ding game being drawn.

I haven't been following the games live, but on the bright side, I don't have to deal with the agony of when a player should've gotten one result but ended up getting a different result. Feels much better. :)

Mar-24-18  technical draw: Tomorrow is a rest day. The betting time should be extended.

FSR: Wow, <moronovich> is not living up to his handle.
Mar-24-18  WinKing: <Annie K.> the games start at 09:00am EST on Monday. Time changes in Germany tonight. I think you have the games still set to start at 10:00am on Monday.
