Jul-17-18  sydbarrett: i had 10 on that bet morf. so you had most of the rest. now i know
Jul-17-18  wallytherhino: <morfishine> my goal for this leg is to break the single season (non championship) leg CB total. That is going to require some calculated risk and some luck here and there.
Jul-18-18  morfishine: <wallytherhino> Good Luck! My goal is to finish in the top-10 so I can hear the congratulatory remark "And congratulations to those of you who finished in the top-10" lol

<sydbarrett> Great username! Floyd has been my favorite band since 1976

*****

Jul-18-18  wallytherhino: <morfishine> another top-10 with no record is not a bad result by any stretch.
Jul-18-18  sydbarrett: I've been a Floyd fan since I was an Embryo (buying DSOTM at age 13 as one of my first CDs I think was my first step into adulthood. Changed my outlook on life. Either that or hearing Nevermind a year before that.)
Jul-18-18  morfishine: <sydbarrett> I have listened to virtually every Floyd album at least once (even Atom Heart Mother!). Of course, the Moon, Wishing & the Wall reign supreme, but my favorite Floyd album is 'Animals'

When I purchased the CD off Ebay from a murky Russian vendor, it arrived as described with a few unreleased bonus tunes included that absolutely stunk (no wonder these weren't released LOL)

Jul-18-18  sydbarrett: I've made it a point to know about every obscure Floyd track since high school, so I wonder what these extra tracks you mention are? I've listened to every recorded album many times over (and bootlegs when I ran out of new studio material to mine), and never found anything less than "interesting," that's how fanatic I am. Animals is angry in a "wonderful" way--- great when you feel wronged. ;-) Also, they finally released lots of vault material the past few years, and I was surprised by how much more there was hidden all these years.
Jul-18-18  morfishine: <sydbarrett> When I get home, I will rustle up this CD and see if there are titles attached to the additional tracks. From what I recall there were 5-6 tracks adding ~25 minutes of "music"
Jul-18-18  sydbarrett: I found the underrated bet for today --- "W-D-B" --- and I put 100. It looks like the wheel's gonna land there.
Jul-18-18  WinKing: On the 'Pick 4' bet for round 6 it would have helped if you would have listed the games in the description box. Love the bet though. :)

FSR: <sydbarrett> When I was 13, DSOTM was the first album I ever bought. So we have that in common, but I bought mine in vinyl form.
Jul-19-18  sydbarrett: mmm vinyl. I could get into that. Maybe in another lifetime. I'll stick to the CDs and mp3s I got.

Sneaky: The first music I ever owned in my life were two eight track tapes my mother gave me. One was the Eagle’s Greatest Hits; the other was Pink Floyd’s Animals.
Jul-21-18  sydbarrett: I love you guys with your 8-track and your vinyl. Never thought I could feel so young, ha ha ha

If everything draws today, it's game over MAN. What a disaster for me it would be

Jul-21-18  morfishine: <sydbarrett> The leg runs til September, everybody is alive

FSR: Looks like I should have bet on Duda, Duda.

FSR: It wasn't "Duda Day" after all. I bet on Giri/Wojtaszek and Nepo/Meier. That counts as betting on Giri/Meier, right?
Jul-21-18  morfishine: <FSR> Giri beating Kramnik with the Black pieces is one of those screwball events that messes up the whole Kit-and-Kaboodle
Jul-21-18

FSR: <morfishine> Indeed. That was never supposed to happen. As I recall, Giri had never won as Black against Kramnik in a standard game.
Jul-21-18  DerDiemer: Sum sites show Kovalev won in Round 6 , Chessbookie got him as a lost ???
Jul-21-18  DerDiemer: Chessgames and Chessdom shows it as win for Kovalev, Chessbase and Ches2700 shows it as a draw ???

Annie K.: The round recap at the official site says it was a draw:

<Die 6. Runde des Sparkassen Chess-Meetings war an Dramatik kaum zu überbieten. Jan-Krzysztof Duda spielte gegen Ian Nepomniachtchi groß auf und sah schon wie der sichere Sieger aus, verpatzte aber seine Gewinnstellung zum Remis. So endete auch die Partie zwischen Radoslaw Wojtaszek gegen Vladislav Kovalev, in der der polnische Großmeister leichte Stellungsvorteile besaß.>

So the Bookie bet was paid off correctly. The game result will need to be corrected.

Jul-22-18  sydbarrett: My mortal chess-enemy Carlsen just struck me with hatred and my chessbucks accumulation deplete by $1200 as a result. Round one to you, Magnus...
