Chessgames Bookie: The bets for round 11 of the Russian Superfinal will go up later today. These wil be the last bets for this leg.

The object, once again, is to secure yourself a spot in the top 10 places to qualify for the championship round. Plus, we have traditionally given a free premium membership to the #1 player.

As soon as the standings are tallied and posted to the Hall of Fame, the Winter Leg will begin. Everybody who has qualified in any of the previous three legs will start with 10,000 chessbucks instead of the normal 1,000.

Plus, we're proud to announce that we have an extra special prize in store for the first ChessBookie World Champion.

Good luck!

Dec-14-06  dakgootje: Is there some sort of a regularity when the standings are updated?

This as, as the standings are now, i will become somewhere #16, and if for some reason the leader board has gambled wrongly the previous round and collapses so like the number 11, 12 and 13 also come in the top 10, they might decide not to gamble for they might lose (a controversial tactic). But thats all not the main point.

I merely want to know whether the standings are updated like every 12 hours or just when you think 'lets update the standings'.

Dec-14-06  brankat: <Chessgames bookie> The last bet of the current leg is today. Is the Bet Limit still in effect for this last bet?
Dec-14-06  brankat: Meaning: Can we shoot the works? :-)

Chessgames Bookie: The Fall Leg is over!

Congratulations to User: Brittle who placed #1 with 21,369 chessbucks. As a prize, he has received a one year premium membership to chessgames.com.

Also congratulations to the 9 runners-up who all qualify for the Championship: Kenkaku, barbababa, dmilosev, acirce, Holden, Rimrock, statisticsman, Blue in Ohio, and voronin.

Tomorrow the Winter Leg will begin. Everybody's account will be reset, all loanshark debts forgotten, and we'll begin the leg with betting on the Pamplona tournament.

Dec-15-06  technical draw: Hey, I came in dead last. Don't I get a prize or something?

WannaBe: My debts are forgiven! Wheeeee!!

Too bad student loans don't work this way.

Dec-15-06  acirce: Wohoo! I had dropped out of the top-10 but then had a great final day with many winning bets in the Russian Championships. Well, the odds for draw were remarkably high in several cases considering it was the final round and all.

Chessgames Bookie: The Championship Leg has officially begun.

The total number of qualifiers was 28 and not 30, because two users (Blue in Ohio, TrueBlue) qualified twice. You can see the 28 qualifiers at the ChessBookie Standings. They are in no particular order.

The final standings for the Fall leg are archived here: http://www.chessgames.com/chessbook...

And there is already wagering available for the Pamplona International: WINNER

Good luck!

Dec-16-06  dakgootje: <because two users (Blue in Ohio, TrueBlue) qualified twice.>

and the lucky colour for this year is... Blue!

Dec-16-06  refutor: ah new leg...past sins are gone away

for the record i'm still against the idea of maximum bets, particularly for premium members ;)

Dec-19-06  Chess Classics: <Chessgames Bookie> According to my math, there were 25 qualifiers out of a possible 30. Who were the 5 who qualified twice?

Regards,
CC

Dec-19-06  Bob726: Correct my if i'm wrong but there were a total of 28 qualifers. The 2 who qualified twice were TrueBlue and Blue in Ohio.

The World vs Arno Nickel: 36...?

Sneaky: This is nuts. Out of the 28 qualifiers, only one of them (suenteus po 147) has been able to show a profit thus far, and it's for a trifling 32 chessbucks. The qualifiers are supposed to be the shrewdest of the shrewd but they just seem to be either sitting on the sidelines, or trickling their money away to the rest of the players.
Dec-23-06  technical draw: <sneaky> I'm first of the non-qualifiers. You guys with the big stacks better start putting your money up cause now I have 1,000 limit and I'm going after y'all.
Dec-26-06  TrueBlue: I can't find anything to bet on. Most bets are on guys (and girls) I have never herd of. I think my money is better spent in Las Vegas. So I don't see my self betting unless something interesting comes along.
