Nov-13-06  Archives: <Does anyone know when this leg is going to end?>

Uh, when you reach my foot?

Nov-14-06  Milo: We should be able to bet on "who cares?" for certain games.
Nov-15-06  technical draw: Wow, my strategy is working. Here is how it works. I bet fake money here and lose. (that's called pre-losing) and when I have lost a lot I'm due to win. Then I bet REAL money on a lottery game and bingo! I win cause I have already pre-lost. Cool, no?
Nov-15-06  Milo: Yes, tech, your method has been verified by Bayes himself. I emailed him, and he said it should work.
Nov-15-06  technical draw: <Milo> Don't do that! Word will get around and then the gambling business will change their rules and I'll have to start all over again. Mums the word!
Nov-16-06  barbababa: Is it possible to bet more than one result in one event ? For instance, 100 chessbucks to Sicilian Defence and 100 chessbucks to Ruy Lopez in Ponomariov vs Leko: OPENING. If it is then what is the maximum bet?

WannaBe: <barbababa> Yes, you can bet on more than one. You can bet on all the possible outcome if you wish.

Maximum bet, I believe is always 200, or a percentage of your total worth.

Nov-17-06  barbababa: <WannaBe>Thanks.

Chessgames Bookie: We are taking bets on Arno Nickel's 28th move in his game vs. the world. The World vs Arno Nickel: 28...?
Nov-28-06  technical draw: Darn! Can't fool the loanshark with a little computer razzle dazzle.

Chessgames Bookie: <ChessBookie Players> We set up "midgame betting" for the Kramnik-Fritz game prior to the game start. We will close the betting manually when Black makes its 18th move.

You're allowed to place bets right now, but that would be foolish. You should wait and see how the opening works out, then take a position when the game approaches move 18.

In the event that the game ends before the 18th move, we will refund all tickets.

Kramnik vs Deep Fritz: Rd. 3: Midgame Betting

Dec-01-06  fersonatu: <Chessgames Bookie> I think that next "year" you should consider allowing people to get some additional advantage in the winter leg if they qualify more than once. I currently find myself in 4th place but, because I've already qualified, need to let out a yell of "BONZAI" place the random all-in bets and try to catch the leader as no other finish holds any allure whatsoever. Kind of takes the skill element out of it.

Chessgames Bookie: Betting is open on the Russian Championship Superfinal tournament. Russian Championship: Winner
Dec-01-06  syracrophy: Dang! I'll better take out my chessbucks that I betted on Kramnik's victory over Deep Fritz, but I just can't! Kramnik's completely crushed by the piece of steel! Dang!
Dec-03-06  Bob726: Darn, just after i started making a run after my time where i had negative chessbucks, 1000 chessbucks are going down the drain if Kramnik dosn't win his last game, which seems unlikely.

Also, is there any way that you make a rule that you can't qualify twice so that other people also get a shot?

Dec-04-06  Total Blunder: Does anybody know which is Russian Championship website (with live games)?

Dec-05-06  strifeknot: When will bets for yesterday's Rd. 2 of the Russian Championship be paid out, and will wagers be opened for Rd. 3 before the start of play today?
Dec-05-06  Total Blunder: Thanks, <Annie K.>

Hey, Mr. Bookie, I want my chessbucks from Rd. 2 bets! I need them for todays bets!

Dec-06-06  technical draw: I owe the bookie $9,047 bucks. That has to be a record. I should get some kind of reward or recognition or something.

Dec-07-06  technical draw: <Wannabe> I'll take it. A recognition is a recognition.

  Chessgames Bookie: ♔ Announcement ♔

The Fall leg will end on December 15th, which is the last day of Russian Championships.

The Winter Leg will start on December 16th. As you know, this is the Championship Leg, which will determine the first annual ChessBookie Champion. All players who have qualified for the championship will begin with 10,000 chessbucks. However, even if you haven't qualified, you still can become champion with enough luck!

Best of luck to everybody.
