May-15-07  MostlyAverageJoe: <Chessgames Bookie: We're taking bets on GM Shulman's next move in his game vs The World.>

I noticed twice in the recent "Yuri Shulman vs The World" events that the betting closed 24 hours too early and then was re-opened (as, e.g., today).

Can you please fix whatever bug is responsible for this annoying misbehavior?

May-18-07  Tomlinsky: Dear <Chessbookie>, I hope the new found lifestyle based on my lack of skills as a gambler is working out to your full satisfaction. When you can spare a moment I would like to point out that there appears to be an error that happens whenever I place a bet with your good self. It goes something like this: 1) I place a bet. 2) Sometime later the lettering on my betting slip changes to 'Discard Ticket' whereupon 3) I have to start and repeat the whole process again from the beginning. Could you look into this please? Thank you kindly & regards.

WannaBe: I had it correct for round 8's pick 3, one game black won, one game white won, and one game draw.

Unfortunately, I got the ordering incorrect. =(

May-18-07  technical draw: <Tomlinsky, Wannabe> Tell it to the Chaplain.
May-19-07  technical draw: Opps! My last remark cost me the leader board. Sorry guys, carry on.

Chessgames Bookie: Regarding Mtel Masters: Quinella

The winning quinella is Topalov-Sasikran, because Sasikran placed 2nd. This is confirmed by the results page http://www.mtelmasters.com/en/resul... from the official site, which indicates Sasikiran is the official 2nd place finisher.

This is also consistent with the tiebreak protocol, which states that the #1 tiebreaking criterion is the number of wins, and Sasikiran has 3 wins whereas all other 2nd place finishers have 2.

I just thought I had better explain this in advance, since it is somewhat confusing.

SwitchingQuylthulg: <Chessgames Bookie> Is it considered cheating to take an infinite amount of loan by constantly pressing the 'back' button of my Mozilla, thus always getting back to where the Loanshark offers me 100 bucks?
May-23-07  technical draw: <SwitchingQuylthug> I already tried that. It only works once and then the loanshark wises up and threatens to bust your knee caps if you try it again.

SwitchingQuylthulg: lol :) Repaying a negative amount of loan doesn't work either... anything that does? ;-)
May-23-07  technical draw: Nope. The chess bookie is taking advice from Johnny "3 fingers" Scungili and is running a smooth operation. Of course you can try cheating if you can eat without teeth, but I just prefer to play fair and square and live a long life.

Sneaky: This has been by far my worse ChessBookie leg yet. Totally creamed by some bad luck early in the season.
