Sep-29-09  SirChrislov: Good evening Miss<Pogonina> (hat off). I didn't know you spoke english, and you write it quite well. I'm excited about your upcoming book chess-kamasutra.

You said before that you don't mind being called a russian beauty, so, here I go, you're a russian beauty.

Good day Ms.

Sep-30-09  Shajmaty: A real Beauty (Russian) Queen. As a Dragon and Benkö/Volga player, I have been a fan of yours for long. Happy to have you here!
Oct-05-09  The Chess Express: <I'm excited about your upcoming book chess-kamasutra.>

Wow, is that like nude twister on a chess board?

Oct-05-09  Travis Bickle: I think I will play the Najdorf today! LOL

Oct-06-09  Billy Vaughan: Thanks for the Pearl Springs commentary. It's been great so far!
Oct-10-09  SirChrislov: Good Afternoon Sir<The Chess Express>,

<Wow, is that like nude twister on a chess board?> No, she actually said its about applying the kamasutra principles to chess and vice-versa. no kidding.

Oct-11-09  virginmind: welcome <natalia> to chessgames.com forum, we are delighted to have yet another gm sharing thoughts with us kibitzers - provided you will find time to post from time to time here...:) and thank you too for commenting on pearl spring tournamen!
Oct-12-09  The Chess Express: <SirChrislov> Good mourning to you sir. Well, unless I’m mistaken the Kama Sutra is the standard Indian work on human sexual practices, so how would those principles be applied to chess? Maybe it’s like strip poker but with chess instead? Maybe the ♗ penetrates the queen‘s side ? Should be an interesting book. Maybe Natalia will give us a sneak peak ;)
Oct-12-09  The Chess Express: At her book I mean ...
Sep-09-10  tentsewang: WoW!!! Way to go Ms: Pogonina, I love you and the way you play. You're the queen of my chess fantasy world.
Jan-24-11  kevins55555: I think this Chessgames Challenge is ∞ ♗ut you, ♘atalia ♙ogonina, are still playing well. Good luck! ♙♘♗♖♕♔
Jan-30-11  dotsamoht: Thanks for the game, Natalia!

AylerKupp: AylerKupp: I would also like to thank you for making the time in your busy schedule and providing us at chessgames.com the opportunity to play a game with you, and to wish you well in the future. I will follow your career with great interest. And from now on I will refer to a Ba8, blocked by a Pc6 but ready to spring into action at a moment’s notice, as a “Pogonina bishop”. Almost as good as a Dragon bishop! :-)
Jan-31-11  WinKing: Thanks for giving us the opportunity to play a game with you. I smiled when I saw your game against GM Kanep. You had to feel confident that you would come away with no worse than a draw & possibly a win. Good luck the rest of the way in Gibraltar. :)
Jan-31-11  kevins55555: It is a draw. Tiring, right?
Jan-31-11  morfishine: <Ms. Pogonina> It was very special to have the opportunity to play against you! While an odd sort of opening, I think the game provided the chance to gain positional insight and thus elevate our chess understanding. It did for me. (I wanted one last check with either 58.Qe3+ or 59.Qe3+ hoping you would fall into <Nc5>, but that would never happen, no, too risky?).

I hope you were able to take something from this game. Best of luck in your future contests. Morfishine

Feb-01-11  Nightranger: Thanks for the game Natalia. Thanks for taking the time to play against us. I know your schedule has been full. I found the game interesting and educational.
Nov-10-11  WinKing: Your play at the ETCC 2011 has been very impressive Natalia. Good luck in your helping bring home the championship for your country. :)
Nov-11-11  WinKing: Congratulations on winning Gold Medal in ETCC 2011. Your team should be very proud!
Nov-15-11  Refused: Congratulations on your Gold at the Euros. GM Pogonina

But can you give an explanation why your male counterparts on Team Russia produced a rather disappointing result?

Ok, the difference in term of playing strength between the Russian Womens' Team and the rest of the field is much bigger than on the mens' part, and anything but gold would have been a big surprise. But still, with such an "Allstar line-up" a medal must have been the minimum aim at the mens' tournament.

Dec-25-11  parmetd: Dear Peter Zhdanov and Natalia Pogonina,
Merry Christmas and all the best.
May-23-12  iroozdar: Natalia, what say about Draw?
