<Format>:

[player]-[player] [result] [# of MOVES]

==4 Different Scoring Methods==

Standard Moves Ranker (1st place-Over[3pts], 1st place-Under [7pts], Exact [10pts])

Bonus Ranker (3rd place-Over[1pts],2nd place-Over[2pts],3rd place-Under [5pts], 2nd place-Under [6pts]

Standard Moves/Bonus Ranker [Add all to together]

1st place Ranker [how many 1st place you have in Standard Moves Ranker]

For example:

<Note: Participants 3, 4, and 5 are predicated on nobody scoring an exact as Participant 2 did. If someone hits an exact, the closest score under and over will score the points for second place.>

Actual Game: [player]-[player] 0-1 45

Participant 1: [player]-[player] 1/2 45
Participant 2: [player]-[player] 0-1 45
Participant 3: [player]-[player] 0-1 44
Participant 4: [player]-[player] 0-1 43
Participant 5: [player]-[player] 0-1 46

Participant 1: No points even though 45 is correct. Results must be correct. If Result is wrong and moves # is correct...you get no points whatsoever

Participant 2: 10 pts rewarded for correct Result/moves #

Participant 3: 7 pts rewarded for closest under (1st-Under) to 45 moves

Participant 4: 6 pts rewarded for the 2nd closest under (2nd-Under) to 45 moves.

Participant 5: 3 pts rewarded closest OVER(1st-OVER) to 45 moves.

Again, the description of Participant 3, 4, and 5 are based on there being no exact prediction as made by Participant 2.

<IF> there is an exact or an under closest, the highest scoring over participant will be 2nd over. The second closest over will be 3rd over. The <ONLY> time there will be a first over is if there is no exact or under winner.

OhioChessFan: Yes. A couple trivial lines. 1. Rb7+ Ka8 2. Ra7+ Kb8 is clearly a repetition. If Black underpromotes, the White Rook draws.

OhioChessFan: <cormier> I'm not sure if it's simply coincidence, but I was always intrigued by the fact the woman with bleeding had suffered for 12 years and the little girl who had died was 12 years old.
Jul-05-10  playground player: Oddly enough, one of the most intelligent persons I know is a geocentrist. He holds several patents, composes classical music, and is employed as a scientist (electronics and physics). When he tries to explain geocentrism to me, I just don't get it--the arguments go right over my head.

Geocentrism seems to be a kind of whipping boy around here--sort of a last refuge for drooling, knuckle-dragging hillbillies who never finished kindergarten. I daresay that's a stereotype.

No, I'm not a geocentrist, so don't ask me to defend it. I'm just saying some smart people believe in it.

Then again, some smart people believe in socialism, too. Shows you what smarts is worth.

<YouRang> I am still grappling with the question you posed on my forum.

Jul-05-10  cormier: yes, the woman with bleeding had suffered for 12 years; and in Marc 5:42 the little girl was 12 years old; Luke 8:42-43. .... have a good day <<OCF>> ..... tks

Jul-07-10  cormier: At the sight of the crowds, his heart was moved with pity for them because they were troubled and abandoned,
like sheep without a shepherd.
Then he said to his disciples,
"The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few;
so ask the master of the harvest
to send out laborers for his harvest." God is happy with us my friend ..... tks

Jul-11-10  achieve: <OCF> Do you perhaps miss the daily dose of voyeurist malicious delight in seeing "other" people engaging non-stop in violently disagreeing on problematic issues?

heh, that was of course "tongue-in-cheek", as it probably tells more about my own perception and psyche; just thought I'd ask ;)

But indeed you are right in noting the rarity of the event. Amusing and surprising. I've adopted a similar routine when logging in at the CG Homepage, to scan the most recent kibitzing of certain pages.

OhioChessFan: <achieve> I don't enjoy the turmoil for the most part. I know many do. I have some people on ignore from that page, though I can tell they don't realize it. I do find it interesting. There's times I shake my head in disbelief at the positions people hold.
Jul-11-10  achieve: <I do find it interesting. There's times I shake my head in disbelief at the positions people hold.> It is most intriguing, actually, to see how emotionally driven people are, in general, but even more so when they argue a certain point/position, when plain evidence supposedly refuting their argumentation might be sitting there right in front of them, as brought on by party B, who holds the diametrically opposing view/position.

Sometimes one feels that indeed "mysterious powers are at work," when people are led astray by what to us appears as clear bogus, and vice versa.

Critical inspection and examination of the self are not among man's favorite passtimes; let alone making room for shifts in one's belief system.

Social networks and acceptance seem to wield the sceptre.

Jul-11-10  cormier: I pray to you, O LORD,
for the time of your favor, O God!
In your great kindness answer me
with your constant help.
Answer me, O LORD, for bounteous is your kindness:
in your great mercy turn toward me.
<Turn to the Lord in your need, and you will live.>
