<Format>:

[player]-[player] [result] [# of MOVES]

==4 Different Scoring Methods==

Standard Moves Ranker (1st place-Over[3pts], 1st place-Under [7pts], Exact [10pts])

Bonus Ranker (3rd place-Over[1pts],2nd place-Over[2pts],3rd place-Under [5pts], 2nd place-Under [6pts]

Standard Moves/Bonus Ranker [Add all to together]

1st place Ranker [how many 1st place you have in Standard Moves Ranker]

For example:

<Note: Participants 3, 4, and 5 are predicated on nobody scoring an exact as Participant 2 did. If someone hits an exact, the closest score under and over will score the points for second place.>

Actual Game: [player]-[player] 0-1 45

Participant 1: [player]-[player] 1/2 45
Participant 2: [player]-[player] 0-1 45
Participant 3: [player]-[player] 0-1 44
Participant 4: [player]-[player] 0-1 43
Participant 5: [player]-[player] 0-1 46

Participant 1: No points even though 45 is correct. Results must be correct. If Result is wrong and moves # is correct...you get no points whatsoever

Participant 2: 10 pts rewarded for correct Result/moves #

Participant 3: 7 pts rewarded for closest under (1st-Under) to 45 moves

Participant 4: 6 pts rewarded for the 2nd closest under (2nd-Under) to 45 moves.

Participant 5: 3 pts rewarded closest OVER(1st-OVER) to 45 moves.

Again, the description of Participant 3, 4, and 5 are based on there being no exact prediction as made by Participant 2.

<IF> there is an exact or an under closest, the highest scoring over participant will be 2nd over. The second closest over will be 3rd over. The <ONLY> time there will be a first over is if there is no exact or under winner.

OhioChessFan: <"These differences make it harder to predict the result of the game; but probably there is a serious chance of a win, a draw, or a loss-- which is what makes it a dramatic challenge after all. ">

JFQ: I would go even further- I think it is 100% certain the result of the game will be a "win, a draw, or a loss."

I know I'm sticking my neck out here, but I'm willing to bet on this. http://www.chess.com/article/view/t...

Anyone who doesn't laugh is obtuse as a moose.

OhioChessFan: Interesting passage in 1 Cor. 6. "Do not be deceived" is something God doesn't mind telling people over and over.
Sep-08-10  achieve: Just noticed your posr at R Kola, acknowledging your entrance in the 10K club; congrats <Ohio>!

A lotta "soda" under the bridge, eh?

Re the letters to the Corinthians, there is an interesting difference noticeable where Paul addresses the Corinthians in book 1 as follows:

"Unto the church of God which is at Corinth"

and some 5 years later upon what proved to be his final visit:

Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timothy our brother, unto the <church of God which is at Corinth, with all the saints which are in all Achaia>

Obviously the good news was spread over all of the Achaia provence by then; remarkable.

And 2 Cor. 2:1-4 I found very moving, very...; how Paul presents himself as a battered and bruised man from his travels to Asia, and needs love and companionship in following his tribulations, but putting in a great effort to show and accept love, despite and because:

1And I decided this to myself, not again to come in sorrow unto you,

2for if I make you sorry, then who is he who is making me glad, except he who is made sorry by me?

3and I wrote to you this same thing, that having come, I may not have sorrow from them of whom it behoved me to have joy, having confidence in you all, that my joy is of you all,

4for out of much tribulation and pressure of heart I wrote to you through many tears, not that ye might be made sorry, but that ye might know the love that I have more abundantly toward you.

Sep-11-10  Russian Grandmasters: <Ohio>

heh

JFQ here in my Russian Grandmasters suit.

Belated thanks for publicizing my sarcastic post at Chess.com-

You know, perhaps you and I may feel comforted knowing that each of us knows for sure there is at least one other person in the world who thinks we are funny.

I can only speak for myself, but one is enough for me.

Best regards,
Jess

Sep-12-10  cormier: I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor and arrogant, but I have been mercifully treated
because I acted out of ignorance in my unbelief.
Indeed, the grace of our Lord has been abundant,
along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. This saying is trustworthy and deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.
Of these I am the foremost.
But for that reason I was mercifully treated,
so that in me, as the foremost,
Christ Jesus might display all his patience as an example for those who would come to believe in him for everlasting life. To the king of ages, incorruptible, invisible, the only God, honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.
