<Format>:

[player]-[player] [result] [# of MOVES]

==4 Different Scoring Methods==

Standard Moves Ranker (1st place-Over[3pts], 1st place-Under [7pts], Exact [10pts])

Bonus Ranker (3rd place-Over[1pts],2nd place-Over[2pts],3rd place-Under [5pts], 2nd place-Under [6pts]

Standard Moves/Bonus Ranker [Add all to together]

1st place Ranker [how many 1st place you have in Standard Moves Ranker]

For example:

<Note: Participants 3, 4, and 5 are predicated on nobody scoring an exact as Participant 2 did. If someone hits an exact, the closest score under and over will score the points for second place.>

Actual Game: [player]-[player] 0-1 45

Participant 1: [player]-[player] 1/2 45
Participant 2: [player]-[player] 0-1 45
Participant 3: [player]-[player] 0-1 44
Participant 4: [player]-[player] 0-1 43
Participant 5: [player]-[player] 0-1 46

Participant 1: No points even though 45 is correct. Results must be correct. If Result is wrong and moves # is correct...you get no points whatsoever

Participant 2: 10 pts rewarded for correct Result/moves #

Participant 3: 7 pts rewarded for closest under (1st-Under) to 45 moves

Participant 4: 6 pts rewarded for the 2nd closest under (2nd-Under) to 45 moves.

Participant 5: 3 pts rewarded closest OVER(1st-OVER) to 45 moves.

Again, the description of Participant 3, 4, and 5 are based on there being no exact prediction as made by Participant 2.

<IF> there is an exact or an under closest, the highest scoring over participant will be 2nd over. The second closest over will be 3rd over. The <ONLY> time there will be a first over is if there is no exact or under winner.

OhioChessFan: I'm trying to work this out from Giri's POV. Maybe he had a novelty prepared in the Englisch and Naka derailed it with 3...h6. Otherwise, he played for a draw while essentially needing a win.

<Jul-24-12 OhioChessFan: <chessmoron> has updated the HOF on his Forum Header after the Dortmund results. Somehow <chessmoron> is now up to 13 Golds, probably using inside information. WinKing now has 4 Golds. <PinnedPiece> picked up 4 medals, <Robin01> had a Silver, <Ragh> had a Bronze, and <OhioChessFan> was shut out.>

...and <Penguincw> ?

jessicafischerqueen: <Ohio> heh thank you- it's funny that the creators think they are being funny- but in fact created images so horrific as to rival "The Exorcist."

OhioChessFan: <chessmoron> it looks like the LCC 2011 results are not reflected in the HOF.

OhioChessFan: <GM Victor Bologan (Moldova, World No 20, 2732 Elo) takes the place of Alexander Morozevich. He arrived already in Biel. He starts the tournament from Round 3. His game against Magnus Carlsen, scheduled for Wednesday July 25th, will be held on Sunday 29th. Victor Bologan will play his first game on Thursday July 26th against Hikaru Nakamura.

The 3 points of the victories of Anish Giri and Etienne Bacrot, achieved against Alexander Morozevich, are kept. Victor Bologan acccepted to play with two games less. >

We'll let <chessmoron> deal with this new mess.

OhioChessFan: I don't mean at all to speak for <chessmoron> but I do think the idea in <YouRang> contest is a pretty good compromise. It's just a bad situation so there is no perfect solution. <chessmoron> is on a different time line than most of us, so I will suggest we mostly go with the current <YouRang> idea until/unless <chessmoron> says differently. I am not sure about including the Bologan/Carlsen game but the rest of it seems pretty reasonable. Again, running the contest, all decision making is in <chessmoron> hands
Jul-25-12  wordfunph: Round 4 - Thu Jul 26

Jul-26-12  chessmoron: I'm sorry that I did not post the results for Round 3 but not due to Morozevich of getting replaced by Bologan, it was coping and in lost of words of what I found today after arriving at my Los Angeles home. My house has been burglarized in May of this year. My neighbor told me that he saw the thief entered the back of my house and called the police. Three police department from South Pasadena, San Marino, and Alhambra was ordered to manhunt but failed to capture this piece of s@#t.

Back to Biel, I think the decision to not include Round 3 is the way to go. I will go forward of post results for the rest of the rounds.

Jul-26-12  Golden Executive:

<chessmoron> Such a very bad news, but I am sure you will, sooner or later, recover from this bad experience; in the other hand, those s@#t burglars are condemned to live in the underground forever.

GO <chessmoron>!

Jul-26-12  Golden Executive:

Back to Biel:

== Round 4 - Thu Jul 26

Bologan - Nakamura 0-1 36
Giri - Hao 1/2 36
Bacrot - Carlsen 0-1 36

Jul-26-12  WinKing: Sorry for your loss <chessmoron>. Having to deal with such a crime is never a pleasant thing. I was robbed in 1979 & of course the robbers were never caught as in your case. You never fully get over the fact your privacy has been invaded.
