<Format>:

[player]-[player] [result] [# of MOVES]

==4 Different Scoring Methods==

Standard Moves Ranker (1st place-Over[3pts], 1st place-Under [7pts], Exact [10pts])

Bonus Ranker (3rd place-Over[1pts],2nd place-Over[2pts],3rd place-Under [5pts], 2nd place-Under [6pts]

Standard Moves/Bonus Ranker [Add all to together]

1st place Ranker [how many 1st place you have in Standard Moves Ranker]

For example:

<Note: Participants 3, 4, and 5 are predicated on nobody scoring an exact as Participant 2 did. If someone hits an exact, the closest score under and over will score the points for second place.>

Actual Game: [player]-[player] 0-1 45

Participant 1: [player]-[player] 1/2 45
Participant 2: [player]-[player] 0-1 45
Participant 3: [player]-[player] 0-1 44
Participant 4: [player]-[player] 0-1 43
Participant 5: [player]-[player] 0-1 46

Participant 1: No points even though 45 is correct. Results must be correct. If Result is wrong and moves # is correct...you get no points whatsoever

Participant 2: 10 pts rewarded for correct Result/moves #

Participant 3: 7 pts rewarded for closest under (1st-Under) to 45 moves

Participant 4: 6 pts rewarded for the 2nd closest under (2nd-Under) to 45 moves.

Participant 5: 3 pts rewarded closest OVER(1st-OVER) to 45 moves.

Again, the description of Participant 3, 4, and 5 are based on there being no exact prediction as made by Participant 2.

<IF> there is an exact or an under closest, the highest scoring over participant will be 2nd over. The second closest over will be 3rd over. The <ONLY> time there will be a first over is if there is no exact or under winner.

<OhioChessFan> predicted Carlsen-Bacrot 1/2 28

That means 6 points in the bonus ranker, so he ties with <WinKing> at the third place winning a bronze medal.

Good catch <GE>. I missed that myself. You don't want to miss any scores especially in the 'medal round'. I think me & <OCF> were the only ones who thought Bacrot might draw that game.

<WinKing> As you mentioned in an earlier post "It is easy to miss one(or copy one wrong) occasionally...I know I do." It happens to me also, so the more eyes watching, the better the result.

After round 6 you made a great come-back to finish winning medals in the four contests!. Well, this is not a surprise since you are a HOFer in all the prediction/betting forums here in CG.

Congratulations to all the winners and thanks to <OCF> and <chessmoron> for another exciting contest.

See you in the next!

OhioChessFan: Man.....things were different 35 years ago. You didn't have every man for himself listening to his own self programmed music. You turned on a radio and everyone listened to the same song. Grooveline came out when I was a junior in high school. I remember a bunch of hopeless dancers trying our best to dance to that when it came on the radio right after our McDonald's closed. We were supposed to be counting money in the cash drawers, sweeping floors, cleaning the grill, etc and our tolerant manager let us all act the fool.
Aug-24-12  Pedro Fernandez: What a interesting and pleasant conversation among capa and winking. Versed persons!Great collaborators!
Aug-29-12  OneArmedScissor: most heterosexuals don't claim to be heterosexual; they just have sex with the opposite sex and have a good time and build families and live their lives. No big deal, right? Meanwhile gays and "asexuals" spend 90% of their time trying to figure out ways to project and broadcast about their perversions and fancies and why 'you don't get it.' it's sad because they could be spending their time pursuing other things instead of squacking on the internet about privilege and how a mentally ill person chopping off their genitalia is "normal."
Aug-29-12  OneArmedScissor: there's this story that goes something like this: you are walking along on a beach and you find a golden pocketwatch. what's more likely, that somewhere there is a watchmaker that left it there, or that it just randomly came together? basically it's the argument that you think the existence of complex things proves that god exists. and usually then people go oh yeah that means this book written by weird sand people is totally correct too.

Nicely put.

Aug-31-12  PinnedPiece: Sad story, mainly about how our atheist friends here are unable to support even the causes they "believe" in!

http://connecticut.cbslocal.com/201...

<The second annual convention was supposed to consist of several speakers and musical acts over two days, as well as giving away free prizes to fellow atheists.

Boyle blames a lack of donations and sponsors, along with several prominent people backing out of the convention. >

I think they have lost their faith in ....everything...
