<Format>:

[player]-[player] [result] [# of MOVES]

==4 Different Scoring Methods==

Standard Moves Ranker (1st place-Over[3pts], 1st place-Under [7pts], Exact [10pts])

Bonus Ranker (3rd place-Over[1pts],2nd place-Over[2pts],3rd place-Under [5pts], 2nd place-Under [6pts]

Standard Moves/Bonus Ranker [Add all to together]

1st place Ranker [how many 1st place you have in Standard Moves Ranker]

For example:

<Note: Participants 3, 4, and 5 are predicated on nobody scoring an exact as Participant 2 did. If someone hits an exact, the closest score under and over will score the points for second place.>

Actual Game: [player]-[player] 0-1 45

Participant 1: [player]-[player] 1/2 45
Participant 2: [player]-[player] 0-1 45
Participant 3: [player]-[player] 0-1 44
Participant 4: [player]-[player] 0-1 43
Participant 5: [player]-[player] 0-1 46

Participant 1: No points even though 45 is correct. Results must be correct. If Result is wrong and moves # is correct...you get no points whatsoever

Participant 2: 10 pts rewarded for correct Result/moves #

Participant 3: 7 pts rewarded for closest under (1st-Under) to 45 moves

Participant 4: 6 pts rewarded for the 2nd closest under (2nd-Under) to 45 moves.

Participant 5: 3 pts rewarded closest OVER(1st-OVER) to 45 moves.

Again, the description of Participant 3, 4, and 5 are based on there being no exact prediction as made by Participant 2.

<IF> there is an exact or an under closest, the highest scoring over participant will be 2nd over. The second closest over will be 3rd over. The <ONLY> time there will be a first over is if there is no exact or under winner.

I am still kicking myself for not taking Carlsen. I thought he'd win this matchup, but convinced myself he wouldn't be pressing too hard to win two in a row. If only it had been a different round.....

  OhioChessFan: ** Round 3 Recap **

<Switch> continues on top of 3 Rankers, and <Winky> shares the lead in 2 of them. <juan> had the lead in Bonus Ranker. <amw> had a strong round, so now we are down to just one contestant, <GE>, who hasn't scored yet. He's claiming that running his own prediction contest is distracting him. Of course, he became a CPA when he was 14 years old, and has a clear talent with numbers, so the crowd isn't buying that excuse.

There are only 7 rounds to go in this short tournament. Nobody seems to be ready to man up and challenge the early leaders. Will one of them stumble, just as surely as Phil Mickelson is going to? Can someone emerge from the pack to get a new name atop the leaderboard? Will <GE> ever score a point? Only time will tell, as our scintillating contest barrels along.

  OhioChessFan: ** Round 4 Recap **

The contestants breathed a collective sigh of relief that <GE> finally scored, as it was getting a bit embarrassing to see him with a 0 by his name in all 4 Rankers. Now, he has a 0 by his name in only 2 Rankers. Several of the contestants got together at <WinKing's> place and for a laugh, agreed to pretend to be sincerely congratulatory. Amazingly, <GE> seems to be buying it.

As for the contest, the same Gang of 3 continues to lead all the Rankers. <WinKing> leads 2, <Switch> leads 1 and <1> leads juan.....errr, <juan> leads 1. The contestants all seem to be operating on fumes, as this is the 5th straight day they've had to labor through the prediction process.

Can <GE> build on this round's success and get up to <2> points? Can we please get rid of the other 7 0's still on the scoreboard? Will someone stop the Gang of 3 Train? Will the contestants start blaming the grueling schedule for their poor performance? Will there be a decisive game not involving MC before the tournament is over? Stay tuned for these and many other answers as our thrilling contest continues.
