<Format>:

[player]-[player] [result] [# of MOVES]

==4 Different Scoring Methods==

Standard Moves Ranker (1st place-Over[3pts], 1st place-Under [7pts], Exact [10pts])

Bonus Ranker (3rd place-Over[1pts],2nd place-Over[2pts],3rd place-Under [5pts], 2nd place-Under [6pts]

Standard Moves/Bonus Ranker [Add all to together]

1st place Ranker [how many 1st place you have in Standard Moves Ranker]

For example:

<Note: Participants 3, 4, and 5 are predicated on nobody scoring an exact as Participant 2 did. If someone hits an exact, the closest score under and over will score the points for second place.>

Actual Game: [player]-[player] 0-1 45

Participant 1: [player]-[player] 1/2 45
Participant 2: [player]-[player] 0-1 45
Participant 3: [player]-[player] 0-1 44
Participant 4: [player]-[player] 0-1 43
Participant 5: [player]-[player] 0-1 46

Participant 1: No points even though 45 is correct. Results must be correct. If Result is wrong and moves # is correct...you get no points whatsoever

Participant 2: 10 pts rewarded for correct Result/moves #

Participant 3: 7 pts rewarded for closest under (1st-Under) to 45 moves

Participant 4: 6 pts rewarded for the 2nd closest under (2nd-Under) to 45 moves.

Participant 5: 3 pts rewarded closest OVER(1st-OVER) to 45 moves.

Again, the description of Participant 3, 4, and 5 are based on there being no exact prediction as made by Participant 2.

<IF> there is an exact or an under closest, the highest scoring over participant will be 2nd over. The second closest over will be 3rd over. The <ONLY> time there will be a first over is if there is no exact or under winner.

  OhioChessFan: ** Round 4 Recap **

<Switch> continues to lead 3 Rankers and <GE> the other as we struggle on. <OhioChessFan> stunned the spectators and himself by his 24 point round. Since <OhioChessFan> isn't scoring, <WinKing> conspicuously didn't congratulate <OhioChessFan> on his success.

Meanwhile, <Penguincw> and <WinKing> both hit a #1 to get rid of four 0's on our leaderboard. There's some concern at tournament headquarters over the well being of <sea otter>, who strangely entered only 3 games in round 3 and none at all in round 4. The pressures of this contest can get to anyone, but we all hope for his successful return in round 5.

Five rounds to go as we continue to vie for cyber fame and fortune.

Apr-24-17  WinKing: Not a bad round <OCF> but if you want a little scmoozin' from me your gonna have to top <GE>'s 28 pts. The bar has been set & it's rather lofty. ;)

  OhioChessFan: Saving this, just because:

<who attained the GM title in history>

Huh?

<He was the Philippines' youngest ever International Master, youngest ever Grandmaster and the youngest ever National Champion.>

"the" youngest at the end of the series is superflous. It's already referenced by the "the" in the beginning of the sentence.

<Wesley was only six when he learned the movement of chess pieces across a board. After memorizing them, >

"them" as a plural apparently refers to "chess pieces" which is clearly not the point. Pronouns generally refer to the immiedately preceding noun, likewise again suggesting "pieces" as the antecedent.

<So, was awarded >

Obviously unneeded comma. And he paid for this stuff? Whew.

<In 2006 at the age of twelve years and ten months Wesley So became the youngest ever Filipino International Master >

Must have a comma after "months".

  OhioChessFan: ** Round 5 Recap **

<Switch> and <GE> continue their leads in 3 and 1 ranker respectively. But the crowd is murmuring about the hard-charging <OhioChessFan> who is now on the medal stand in all 4 rankers, including a tie for the lead in #1 ranker! Talk of a quadruple crown is obviously premature, but the leaders are definitely hearing footsteps.

<sea otter> is back from a rumored global warming symposium, after being told "Hey, rising sea levels ought to be right up your alley!" He and his fans were stunned when his prediction of a 47 move draw in the 51 move Harikrishna-Mamedyarov battle still wasn't good enough to earn a #1. Not to worry, too much, as there are still 4 rounds to go.

<Switch> and <GE> begged the Gashimov tournament directors for a timeout to catch their breath and consider their options to slow down the <OCF> express. <OCF> hated to see his momentum broken, but in an honorable display of sportsmanship, agreed with the administrators to have a rest day tomorrow.

Will <Switch> hack Mamedyarov's computer and mess with his opening preparation? Will <GE> invent an even more obscure scoring system? After years of disappointment, will <OCF> finally have a strong finish? What exactly does <sea otter> have to do to get rid of the last two 0's on the scoreboard? Some of the contestants will relax tomorrow, some will be working feverishly, but all will be ready Thursday to resume their quest for cyber fame and fortune.
