<Format>:

[player]-[player] [result] [# of MOVES]

==4 Different Scoring Methods==

Standard Moves Ranker (1st place-Over[3pts], 1st place-Under [7pts], Exact [10pts])

Bonus Ranker (3rd place-Over[1pts],2nd place-Over[2pts],3rd place-Under [5pts], 2nd place-Under [6pts]

Standard Moves/Bonus Ranker [Add all to together]

1st place Ranker [how many 1st place you have in Standard Moves Ranker]

For example:

<Note: Participants 3, 4, and 5 are predicated on nobody scoring an exact as Participant 2 did. If someone hits an exact, the closest score under and over will score the points for second place.>

Actual Game: [player]-[player] 0-1 45

Participant 1: [player]-[player] 1/2 45
Participant 2: [player]-[player] 0-1 45
Participant 3: [player]-[player] 0-1 44
Participant 4: [player]-[player] 0-1 43
Participant 5: [player]-[player] 0-1 46

Participant 1: No points even though 45 is correct. Results must be correct. If Result is wrong and moves # is correct...you get no points whatsoever

Participant 2: 10 pts rewarded for correct Result/moves #

Participant 3: 7 pts rewarded for closest under (1st-Under) to 45 moves

Participant 4: 6 pts rewarded for the 2nd closest under (2nd-Under) to 45 moves.

Participant 5: 3 pts rewarded closest OVER(1st-OVER) to 45 moves.

Again, the description of Participant 3, 4, and 5 are based on there being no exact prediction as made by Participant 2.

<IF> there is an exact or an under closest, the highest scoring over participant will be 2nd over. The second closest over will be 3rd over. The <ONLY> time there will be a first over is if there is no exact or under winner.

Apr-21-19  WinKing: All games have started.
Apr-21-19  alfamikewhiskey: <wk: 1/2 or 0-1> Must be a cg glitch :)

No, my mistake. I ment 0-1 to Svidler, as I (unsuccessfully) had <Svidler - Caruana 1-0 31> in R1.

Apr-21-19  thegoodanarchist: Congratulations on yet another GOTD pun, <OCF>.

And it was a quality game too.

Apr-21-19  WinKing: Hey <OCF> you want me to do the scores for Round 1(& 2?)? If <chessmoron> is busy I can handle Round(s) 1 (& 2). Let me know.

OhioChessFan: Yes, thanks, he hasn't been on in two days so there's an issue going on.
Apr-21-19  WinKing: Ok I'll get started. Take me about an hour to 90 min. to complete both.

If you guys could hold off with your Round 3 picks that would be a great help - thanks.

  OhioChessFan: <Naiditsch - Svidler 1/2 0-1 33 amw ???>

<chessmoron> has the final say, but I am inclined to accept that as 0-1. I have done that myself, whereby I copy someone else's picks and paste them. I don't see anyone else with an 0-1 for that game, so it seems clear to me that <amw> copied someone else's 1/2 pick, typed in 0-1, and forgot to backspace over the 1/2. It doesn't impact any other scoring for the round, so there's no rush to make a final determination.

OhioChessFan: ** Requesting nobody post Round 3 picks until <Winky> finishes scoring Rounds 1 and 2 **

If that is a problem for someone, eg, you can't wait to get them posted because you won't be available after this hour, I'll suggest an alternative of posting them in User: Penguincw and we'll transfer them back here.

  OhioChessFan: ** Rounds 1 and 2 Recap **

It was total chaos in our contest through the first 2 rounds. Before the contest even started, <Count Wedgemore> and <Penguincw> had to be separated as they began fighting over <Pengo's> supposed late predictions snafu last contest. <OhioChessFan> and <bubuli> almost missed the first round as they were busy begging <Sargon> to use their puns. Clearly, <OCF> won that argument, and leads the associated "Puns Used During the Moves Prediction Contest Contest" 1-0. <wordfunph> and <Count> engaged in an embarrassing act of sucking up to the Bookie. Shockingly enough, it WORKED, as the Bookie arbitrarily moved both of them up 2 places in the standings, which really meant nothing anyway. Both <word> and <Count> are going to try the same routine with <chessmoron> in this contest. Good luck with that.

Recent Quadruple Crown winner <GE> showed up with some of his adoring fans from the "Chess Club" in tow. Apparently jealous, <chessmoron> left after the first round to see if he could find any fans there. <OCF> managed to miss the contest at <lostemperor's> place. Not to be denied, <paavoh> showed up an hour after <OCF> and turned in his entries as if they were on time.

As for our contest, just about everyone is tied for first in all 4 categories. In an admirable and creative attempt to cheat, <amw> turned in an entry with 2 possible game outcomes. That kind of "Win At Any Cost" attitude is commendable. Alas for <amw>, <Winky> caught him and demanded he get to score the round and insisted on giving <amw> a 0. In an admirable show of unmitigated gall, <Winky> stared at and spoke directly to <amw> as he pretended to ask everyone, "See any mistakes, boys?"

Where in the world has <chessmoron> run off to? Who will try to cheat this round and will <Winky> catch them? Can someone please break all the ties for the lead in all the categories? Will Carlsen will all 9 of his games and will our contestants figure that out before it's too late? What will happen if <word> and <Count> try to butter up <chessmoron>? Will <OCF> and <bubuli> convince <Sargon> to use their puns since neither one of them is very good at prediction contests? Stay tuned for the answers to these and many other pressing questions. Only 7 rounds to go in our thrilling contest.
