Jan-11-15 | | gauer: Voting (4) < User: visayanbraindoctor > after making an attempt at endorsing it earlier on - which seems to be within the rules when another legitimate vote was cast with it: " Please don't argue who should or should not win any of the various awards on this forum, although while you actually cast your nomination/vote <you are encouraged to say a few words about their merits>. " Speaking of which, although such "rules" seem a bit archaic, is there a reason why FSR complained without placing also placing a vote?! One <day> per each 2 categories to make votes on the posts of the past <year>?! Maybe next year there'd also be some consideration to other categories as well - like an award to a performance of a particular player playing for match points in team mode, or maybe like most improved junior/senior of the year, or best correspondence computer or player's line or best rapid player. Anyways, that's short enough for this post... |

Jan-11-15 | | Abdel Irada: I vote for <Phony Benoni> for Most Helpful. (This is a tough choice. All the candidates and many others have a long history of good works on this site. But since I can only vote for one....) I vote for <visayanbraindoctor> for Best Post. (Another tough choice. But I'm afraid if <PB> wins any more awards, he'll have to move out of his house to make room for all of them.) ∞ |

 | | FSR: <gauer: ... although such "rules" seem a bit archaic, is there a reason why FSR complained without placing also placing a vote?!> What are you talking about? Prior to my last post, I had already voted in the first two categories, which were the categories up for voting. I don't recall complaining about anything in this forum. I do recall informing you, in an effort to help you, that your prematurely cast vote would not count. You're welcome. |

Jan-11-15 | | hms123: Most Helpful: I vote for <WannaBe> Best Post: I would vote for both but that seems silly. The two posts are so different that there should be two categories (j/k). Nonetheless, my vote goes to <Phony Benoni> |
Jan-11-15 | | Abdel Irada: <The two posts are so different that there should be two categories> I know you're joking, but if anything, there should be several categories. This site boasts so many deserving posts, on so many different topics and of so many different kinds (humorous, historical, analytical, philosophical), that it always seems wasteful to pick just one. ∞ |

Jan-11-15 | | YouRang: ♔ Thank you! ♔
I see that I have won the highly coveted <Best Avatar> Caissar award! Now that I have won, I can finally stop coveting it so highly. The remarkable thing is that it was exactly ten years ago that I previously won a "Best Avatar" Caissar award in a shared first place tie with User: tamar. I'm a little worried that some of you may have voted for me out of sympathy, thinking that I actually am the poor ghastly-looking fellow pictured in my avatar. However, the avatar is a picture of "Lurch" (of Addams Family fame), and any resemblance he has with me is mere coincidence. I'm sorry that I could not be with you all there at the Chessgames.Com Banquet Hall for the awards ceremony, but Lurch and I do send our thanks to all those who kindly nominated and selected me to receive this nice award. :-) |
