| Dec-09-06 | | suenteus po 147: <cu8sfan> & <Benzol> Knowing you gentlemen as I do, I'm honored by the nomination. However, I'm not sure what is meant exactly by the category title :) |

 | | WannaBe: <suenteus po 147> Did I goof again? (I've been known to really screw up my view of the board and lose track of the game... =( |
| Dec-10-06 | | suenteus po 147: <WannaBe> I would say you did goof because there was no immediate reason to resign the game. After 16.gxf3 your position isn't great, but it's far from hopeless. My attack was geared to bust open your king's position since my king was stuck in the center; there was no mating attack forthcoming. Anyway, if you want a rematch I'm always willing. I feel like you got cheated out of this game. |

 | | WannaBe: Yes, upon further review, I did lose track of the game. I took one look and saw I was down a piece. Didn't realize it was my move and I can retake. What a silly dumb @$$ I am. |
| Dec-10-06 | | brankat: <WannaBe> <I took one look and saw I was down a piece.> Again, slow down! Try to make a habit of NOT just taking a look/glance. Sit down, light up a smoke, take a sip, relax, and say to Yourself: "OK, what do we have here? Let's see...". Then take Your time. And it doesn't matter whether it is a tourney or a "friendly" OTB game, a correspondence contest, or a post mortem analysis. You will learn more this way, progress faster and further, feel more and more confident. No need to hurry, You're only 35, and have at least another 50 ahead of you:-) |

 | | TheAlchemist: I think most of the people I'd nominate have already been nominated, so I'd just add <HoopDreams> for best avatar. Maybe I'll add more later. |
Dec-11-06
 | | Sneaky: I'd like to nominate these puns if they haven't been nominated already: "Wholly Knight" (the Christmas pun from last year) J Nogueiras vs M Gongora, 2001 -- OK, I know it's not from 2006, but it was not possible to vote on this during the last Caissars so I think that puns from December 2005 should be allowed. "Shipov Fools" (what's not to like?) S Shipov vs Miles, 1998 * * *
Also, if <Honza Cervenka> has not been nominated for "Best non-computer analysis" then I'd like to put his name up there. |

| Dec-11-06 | | DrDum: about <wannabe> resigning. as someone who has literally played him thousands of games I can say this. He has a terrible tendency to resign too early. ie in games that can at least be drawn or in which plenty of counterplay is available. Sometimes I think this springs from a lack of elan or 'fighting spirit' I hope this post comes across in the spirit of being helpful and not as a knock or a put down. It's not meant that way. If anybody has a cure for this give it to him. |
| Dec-11-06 | | DrDum: How's this. Sometimes I think <wannabe> is too nice of a guy and doesn't go for the jugular enough. Just too much sugar and spice and everthing nice in him :=D |
