tpstar: Thank you very much for the award, and congratulations to <mahmoudkubba> & <JoeWms> & all of the nominees. =)

In 2004, Best Written Post went to Lawrence Day because people admired the quality of his input. Then 2005 became a contest between my Kramniad and <soberknight>'s Storey, interpreting the category as best writing project. One way to avoid confusion next time would be to split the award into Best Writer and Best Post.

To clarify another point, Most Constructive meant best contribution to the group/site overall, while Most Helpful was toward other kibitzers.

Dec-18-06  YouRang: <WannaBe: <twinlark> I found one name that I missed for Best Avatar, who else did I miss?>

I was thinking of proposing, as a matter of procedure, that last year's winners should be automatic nominees for the current year.

But then it occurred to me that I myself was co-winner of "best avatar" last year. Therefore, it might appear self-serving for me to be the one making this proposal, and I wouldn't want that.

BTW, did I mention that I was co-winner of <best avatar> last year? :-)

Domdaniel: <RonB52734> - <Does anyone else have any better memory than this? >

Er, yes. Possibly.

But it ain't me. And on that particular topic (Mahmoud vs The Continuum) it ain't anyone.

However, I've trained myself to type your username without looking it up or calling you <Ron B-numbers>...

If I multiply my approximate age (47) by my real mental age (17) by my apparent mental age (11) by the age people think I must be (6), I get:

47 x 17 x 11 x 6 = 52734

And 17 is the only one of the prime factors to be of the form (4n+1), thus expressible as the sum of two squares, 4 and 1.

47 is midway between the 4n+1 primes 41 and 53.

6 is a 'perfect' number, because
6 = 2 x 3 = 3 + 2 + 1

The next perfect number is 28:
28 = 2 x 2 x 7 = 14 + 7 + 4 + 2 + 1
and of course 17 + 11 = 28.

Easy, huh?

Dec-18-06  JoeWms: This statement was posted on my forum a few minutes after midnight EST last night.

<WannaBe: Congratulations on winning <BEST POSTER> Caissar!>

As the person in charge of the voting process, you awarded the <Best Poster Caissar> to me.

No other person(s) received a similar announcement.

The voting deadline had passed. Other users had read the announcement. (As a matter of fact, <Brankat> posted congratulations to me just a few seconds after your declaration.)

The announcement you made could <only> be changed if there was fraud found to be committed by me or on my behalf. No such fraud has been announced on these CG.com pages.

No matter the pressure that may be put upon you to change the result, your announcement is final. I was declared the winner, and I thank the users who voted that way.

Sometime during the night, <Cubsfan> announced in the Kibitzer's Cafe that the winners were <JoeWms>, <tpstar>, and <Mahmoudkubba> -- an announcement you should have repudiated.

This morning On your forum, <WannaBe>, <tpstar> acknowledged his award and congratulated all the participants. Neither did you repudiate <tpstar>'s statement.

<WannaBe>, you have been silent since the award announcement last night. It is necessary for you now to set things straight.

  WannaBe: Dearest <JoeWms>:

If the winner(s) have forum, they receive a personal post (from me) on their forum.

If the winner(s) are regular member, or who are premium member, but declines to open their forum, they get their notification in the Kibitz' Cafe.

Of the 3 co-winners, yours was the only one with an open forum, <tpstar> is a premium member, but his forum is not open, <Mahmoudkubba> is a regular member, hence no forum.

I hope this clears up the confusion. Past category winners <acirce>, <Hesam7>, <Honza Cerevenka>, and <Resignation Trap> have all received personal congratulatory notices on their personal forum.

WannaBe: I have been silent (mostly) because I'm due to leave So. Cal. for a business trip to San Francisco (again, 3rd time this year) tomorrow.

And I won't be back in So. Cal. until Friday night, I spent most of the day getting my 'necessary' work materials ready for my 3 days of testing/debugging/programming needs. =)

Dec-18-06  YouRang: Another scandal!

For best avatar, one of the nominees is "User: Hoozit", but it should be "User: Hoozits" (plural of Hoozit).

Dec-19-06  chessmoron: Best game collection: <suenteus po 147> and his 101 Game Collection is just remarkable work that he had the time to complete it. Stunning really!

Most Constructive Kibitzer: no clue!!! Any of these kibitzer want to convince me?

Dec-19-06  suenteus po 147: Best Game Collection: I would ask that before anyone else votes for me and my collection, please take a few minutes to observe <Fischer of Men>'s Game Collection: Road to the Championship - Bobby Fischer which is the predecessor to my collection and is the prototype for all Road to the Championship game collections. It deserves your highest regard and your vote. I'm giving it my own.

Most Constructive Kibitzer: <Hesam7>
