 | | WannaBe: As a side note, the Big Bopper did the background in the music to "Running Bear" |

 | | WannaBe: Now, the original, song, is 'The Battle of New Orleans': http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lzNB... (Video quality poor) But I think these are the original 'Weird Als' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mma1... |

 | | WannaBe: I am very convinced that Homer and Jetro were a big influence on Weird Al. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fJBW... Here they spoof the classic tune Jambalaya |
Jan-02-07
 | | WannaBe: Since I'm doing 'deep' research on YouTube, I've now seen everything. Polish version of Jambalaya http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hmwa... Lovely singer. |

 | | WannaBe: One of the funniest video I've seen, done by a tenth grader in Israel. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DUjs... Thumbs up, way up! |

 | | WannaBe: Cool video, done to the Five Man Electric Band... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oXB-... Okay, I'll post posting these links to youtube for today. =) |
| Jan-03-07 | | DrDum: <chesstoplay> surprisingly the airfare isn't the expensive part of the trip. The hotel room is twice as much thus sharing the room and even the entry fee is pretty darn close to the airfare. |
| Jan-03-07 | | DrDum: isn't the most expensive I should have said |
| Jan-03-07 | | technical draw: <Robin01> Tks. I'll just move it on up to the eastside, ummm, I mean to the under 1700 group. |

 | | chancho: I'm kinda late with this, (sorry) but Happy New Year <WannaBe>. |
Jan-03-07
 | | WannaBe: <chancho> No, you're not late, you're early! =) |

Jan-03-07
 | | chancho: <WannaBe> Good. :) |

| Jan-03-07 | | brankat: <WB> <Apologies to Johnny Preston!> What happened to the posts after the above? The admins? You keep this up, and You'll never catch up with <EA> ;-) |
| Jan-03-07 | | RonB52734: This Chicago gathering is starting to look like it's really going to happen. I can control my schedule enough to say "I'll be there" but what I'm short of is time beforehand to help plan. If we can guarantee that there will be a decent <cg.com> turnout, we should reserve some kind of grand suite at the hotel and split the cost. Is anyone willing to look into this and give us a report? I'm willing to put my credit card on the line if we can work out some way to assure that I won't be completely hung out to dry. Let's start discussing and exploring this. |

 | | WannaBe: <brankat> You know what?! I know/remembered posted that link. But I can't remember why or exact order that I posted all those youtube videos... Stupid alcohol. Thanks to the admins, I 'may' have posted a phrase that was somewhat 'racy' or 'inappropriate'. <RonB52734> My room is already reserved, (currently for <DrDum> and I), but I can change that into a triple at anytime (within reasonable time) and it's OK. I am sure both of us are glad to cut down on our costs by sharing it with another person. You are welcomed to stay, (I smoke, and <DrDum> is going to tolerate me for the duration of this trip.) I know you do too. And both of us drink like a, well, errr, like a fish!!!! If, you are in, you're in! |
| Jan-03-07 | | RonB52734: <WannaBe> Since I may be running for judge in the next year or two, I respectfully decline the invitation to add new verses to the song we discussed recently ;). However, I'm happy to report that, yes, I am a smoker and would welcome the chance to have a room with an ashtray. But I'm not just talking about a standard room for 2 or 3. I'm talking about a suite, with several bedrooms off of the main room, and lots of amenities. If we had 5 or 6 people, this would be a realistic possibility. |
| Jan-03-07 | | brankat: Don't forget to bring Your own cases of liquid stuff :-) |
Jan-03-07
 | | WannaBe: <RonB52734: ...Since I may be running for judge in the next year...> Oh! In that case!! Stay with us, we'll film some of the most 'wonderful' stuff to 'help' your campaign!!! :-) Seriously, I do think, a suite is out of the question with the discount rate, and <DrDum> and I wouldn't go for it. (Not knowning how many others are coming/or are staying in the same hotel, and willing to share the room) Oh yeah, like <brankat> said, Bring Your Own Booze. (And no, you can't bum my smokes. If you wish to share our room. =) And NO! You can't use my razor! |
| Jan-03-07 | | RonB52734: <brankat> I think most liquids have been banned for travel by the Bush/Blair government. Of course, I only need my hair gel for road trips that involve appearing in court. When I'm playing chess, I don't mind if my bad hair is downright upsetting to others LOL. |
| Jan-04-07 | | brankat: <WannaBe> You are invited to register for the game! And, of course, there will be no computers, for a change. Certainly, The Opening Explorer/Games DBases will be allowed. The "rules" will be pretty well the same as in our previous cons.games. P.S. As for the Chicago thing, why don't You just ask <RonB> to mail You
his credit cards together with PINs :-)
Jan-04-07
 | | WannaBe: <brankat> I'm in. I loved the original consultation game organized by <me to play>. After <RonB> send me his credit card number and pin, we'll go shopping! |
| Jan-04-07 | | brankat: <WannaBe> <I'm in. I loved the original consultation game organized by <me to play>.> You mean, the "original" game was organized by: <me to DRAW> :-) OK, so You're in!!! Have You started analizing already? Never too early.
Often I wish I could listen to my own advice:-) |

| Jan-05-07 | | chesstoplay: Here's CGs answer on shirts...
<chesstoplay> We don't have any T-Shirts at this time although we do have some graphic ideas that were created for the job. So no shirts right now, but if we have real interest, maybe shirts could become a reality by May??? |
Jan-05-07
 | | WannaBe: <chesstoplay> Shirts would be cool, not only as another way for CG.com to make money, but also as a way for members to identify another. =) We'll see. I am going to guess that you live around Chicago area? |
