WannaBe: <unferth> In my not so humble and (very, very, very) biased opinion, let Kershaw pitch. The fans will appreciate his effort and dedication to LAD. Especially tonight; the game is virtually 'lost' for all intent and purposes. But there is game 5 tomorrow. Truely last chance for

WannaBe: Just raise the minimum wage to $100/hour end hunger, homelessness, and people being poor. Everyone will have plenty of money to buy homes and feed family. I'm ready to receive my Nobel Prize in Economics in 2026. If that doesn't fix the problem, raise min wage to $1,000/hour.

Feb-13-09  dzechiel: WannaBe - Five minute chess tournament coming up Saturday, Feb 21, 6:00p in Anaheim Hills (straight out the 91 freeway for you). Would you like a spot? It includes food and drink.
Feb-14-09  dzechiel: There is no real schedule for the tournaments. The next one will probably be held in the late spring or early summer. I'll try to give you more notice.
Feb-14-09  whiteshark: <WannaBe Gambit>

Here is another serious game with <WannaBe Gambit>. The white player once was no.3 of the chessworld, but during the game he was incognito, so I won't reveal his identity here either. I will post only the short version of the event, the report is decribing en detail about the situation...

[Date: rainy Sunday morning, early 1920']
[Location: Ljubljana, chess cafe]

White [Top 3] vs Black [say NN ]

<1.e4 e5 2.Ke2!> Black: "That's not a good move."

<2...Nf6 3.Kd3!> Black: "You haven't understand me." White makes a defiant gesticulation and says something about his own deep-thought strategy. Black, with a contempt-feel moves

<3...Nc6>. The air is fraught with tension...

<4.Kc4!> White point to ♙e4 and remarks: "<It's a gambit>."

Here Black swept the pieces off the board, shouting "I don't play with such a patzer".

Maybe unfinished, but I'd say <1:0>

Feb-20-09  NakoSonorense: <wannabe> You are not going to believe what I'm going to tell you. After (what, a month?) of using my new laptop, I just realized that the keyboard has a numeric pad!!!!!!!!!!!

Even though the Home+end+pgup+pgdown are on it and I've used them a lot o(not tu mention the numbers themselves), the numeric pad is still virgin and have been using the qwerty keyboard instead to type in numbers!!!

Buahahahahahahahahahaha. I can't believe it. Seriously.

Feb-20-09  NakoSonorense: I have to add that my previous laptop didn't have a numeric pad. Maybe it was a psychological thing...

I discovered it because I couldn't find the Character Map thingy and wanted to type in some of the ASCII special characters.

Feb-20-09  NakoSonorense: =filler=

I don't want this post on the recent chessforum activity page. It's embarrassing. :p

Feb-26-09  chessmoron: <WannaBe> What do I do if "Internet Options" is not in the Control Panel? I think "Internet Options" disappeared for some strange reason.

WannaBe: <chessmoron> You can open Internet Explorer, and it's under 'Tools', last choice on the menu.

I don't know why it would 'disappear' from the control panel, (You didn't delete it by accident did you? =). No, I think there are certain system icons that you can't delete...

See if that work, or let me know if you got other questions. And it doesn't matter if you are connected on-line or not, that Tools->Internet Options menu is always there.

This is when you do Tools->Internet Option? (I am guessing it is, because you can't access it from the control panel...)

Try this: http://forums.techguy.org/windows-n...

Did you, by the way, install any security software(s) that may have disabled the Internet Options feature? There are some articles out on the web about that too.
