I thought the actor who played Bones did the best job (portraying) a previous actor, but at a younger age/roll. No one from the previous Star Trek episodes, producer/writer wise, was involved, no Brannon Braga, Rick Berman, etc... It's a quickie fix for Trekkies (I even wore my shirt for the movie...
