Oh no- as an important <bee-related Superhero>, I fear that your unfortunate endorsement of "the waffle," that most notorious of breakfast foods, will seal the deal.
On a much less serious note- I just wanted to run my current PC setup by you- because I think I've got just the right mix now for my needs and safety.
OK acting on many web recommendations, I'm not running <two> main firewalls at the same time.
I've disabled my <Windows firewall>, and my new free <Emisoft Online Armor> firewall is working beautifully so far.
I'm not even picking up any "low threat" ad cookies. And I regularly visit video websites that have 90,000 spywares on them.
On my old Computer with the <Zone Alarm> firewall I used to have to sweep away fifty or more of these pesky items every night.
No longer! I think the improved security features of <Vista> and <Mozilla 3.0> are also responsible for this new CLEANLINESS.
Actually, on that topic- I also set up both my <IE 7.0> and my <Mozilla 3.0> so that they don't keep ANY COOKIES or anything at all.
This means I never have a "cache"- Because a cache just slows down my speed and it serves no purpose that I'm interested in.
Seems to me that retyping passwords is a small price to pay for such a "CLEAN CACHE"-
So I also have my <Spyware Blaster> Cookie Firewall on as I mentioned.
For "cleaning" I am using the <Emisoft A Squared> and both the <AVG Free> and the <Avast> virus killing programs.
I found the <Avast> program to be particularly grand- as it offers "real time protection" agaisnt certain kinds of infection.
In other words, it's doing some "firewall duties" as well as cleaning.
Recently, I tried to go to a web page and when I got there a LOUD BEEP on my computer badly startled me- then a window from <Avast> popped up and warned me that I had just been prevented from traveling to an <infected web page>.
HOW GREAT IS THAT/?????
Ok what else- Oh yes- the Vista is now compatible with all of my software and plugins, so my <video watching> needs are met with no fuss no muss fast loading pages.
I couldn't be happier!!
Thanks for all your PC support in the past <MannBee> it really means the world to me.
I really want to recommend this Dutch freeware company <Emisoft>-
I'm finding both of their products I'm using are just top notch-
<A-Squared Spyware/Virus/Trojan Killer>
and
<Online Armor Firewall>.
Mrs. Loves her New Computer now that everything's working the way I want it to.
