WannaBe: MLB does not have an official rule on how long a game goes in extra innings before it is delayed/resumed next day. Most if not all delayed games resumed next day are due to weather.

WannaBe: Just raise the minimum wage to $100/hour end hunger, homelessness, and people being poor. Everyone will have plenty of money to buy homes and feed family. I'm ready to receive my Nobel Prize in Economics in 2026. If that doesn't fix the problem, raise min wage to $1,000/hour.

WannaBe: <Chopin> Yeah, been thinking about giving up on chess, and taking up tennis.

Since Andre retired, America need some new young bloods. Think I can be that guy. As long as my back don't go out, or pull my ham-string, or tweak an elbow, think I can win the Wimbledon by the year 2009. =)> Are you still on course for it? Just one more month to go.. :)

Oh no- as an important <bee-related Superhero>, I fear that your unfortunate endorsement of "the waffle," that most notorious of breakfast foods, will seal the deal.

On a much less serious note- I just wanted to run my current PC setup by you- because I think I've got just the right mix now for my needs and safety.

OK acting on many web recommendations, I'm not running <two> main firewalls at the same time.

I've disabled my <Windows firewall>, and my new free <Emisoft Online Armor> firewall is working beautifully so far.

I'm not even picking up any "low threat" ad cookies. And I regularly visit video websites that have 90,000 spywares on them.

On my old Computer with the <Zone Alarm> firewall I used to have to sweep away fifty or more of these pesky items every night.

No longer! I think the improved security features of <Vista> and <Mozilla 3.0> are also responsible for this new CLEANLINESS.

Actually, on that topic- I also set up both my <IE 7.0> and my <Mozilla 3.0> so that they don't keep ANY COOKIES or anything at all.

This means I never have a "cache"- Because a cache just slows down my speed and it serves no purpose that I'm interested in.

Seems to me that retyping passwords is a small price to pay for such a "CLEAN CACHE"-

So I also have my <Spyware Blaster> Cookie Firewall on as I mentioned.

For "cleaning" I am using the <Emisoft A Squared> and both the <AVG Free> and the <Avast> virus killing programs.

I found the <Avast> program to be particularly grand- as it offers "real time protection" agaisnt certain kinds of infection.

In other words, it's doing some "firewall duties" as well as cleaning.

Recently, I tried to go to a web page and when I got there a LOUD BEEP on my computer badly startled me- then a window from <Avast> popped up and warned me that I had just been prevented from traveling to an <infected web page>.

HOW GREAT IS THAT/?????

Ok what else- Oh yes- the Vista is now compatible with all of my software and plugins, so my <video watching> needs are met with no fuss no muss fast loading pages.

I couldn't be happier!!

Thanks for all your PC support in the past <MannBee> it really means the world to me.

I really want to recommend this Dutch freeware company <Emisoft>-

I'm finding both of their products I'm using are just top notch-

<A-Squared Spyware/Virus/Trojan Killer>

and

<Online Armor Firewall>.

Mrs. Loves her New Computer now that everything's working the way I want it to.

WannaBe: <myschkin> Thank you for the link, it was very informative.

Now, however, I have my own personal 2 Euros to add to it... Everything I'll write, is my own opinion/observation/comment...

<ENOUGH!!!> Stop this 'information' madness!!! For goodness sake, I don't care about your blog, I don't care about your twitter, and I don't care about the minute details of <YOUR> life!!

(Of course, you have to sign up for these web-sites/services to receive the most/latest/updatest info...)

For civilizations' sake, do you know how many times I've seen customers in my pub that comes in, sits down, and pulls out their phone/pda/communicators and starts texting/IMing/Twitting?? It is as if they have absolutely no other life...

What is this?? I'm so important that everything I post/twit/IM people will want/need to read?? (You must read this, otherwise, horrible, horrible things will happen to <YOOOOOUUUU>!!!)

The speed of the flow of information was the breakthrough of ideas, and some may even say freedom. (How many countries have blocked web-sites?? And who are these countries??) but I say enough is enough!!

Do I need the latest, most update info of my friends on FaceBook? or LinkIn? or ChessGames.com? Do I need to know that my name was entered into the quick search? Or someone just posted onto my forum?

No, No, No, and No... Call me old fashioned, my cell phone don't even accept texting, because when I see people who have nothing better to do than texting, it really turns me off and upsets me...

Anyway, my own Buffalo Nickle...

Dear <WannaBe>,

don't blame the average (s.o. who is not particularly part of the digital business) person to get lost in this maelstrom on a daily bases. Many just fear to be left behind or drop out by not participating. We endure to have managers all over the globe to fuel this hype again and again. As you said, todays internet (~ info flow) by far does not provide the desired simple solutions to become a more peaceful, more clean or more happy globe over the last decades. Most of the so called "killer applications" (typical IT coinage) are bugfixed, time consuming useless waste to generate business volume in place of anything else .... well, not to be unfair they provide work for millions, too! Smaller, faster, further is helpful ... different, unimaginable, courageous is needed. May the answer be somewhere in the digital flow or in a childs head in the Himalaya already. Both looks promising to me. Teach the kids how they can turn the internet to a mighty tool and how they expose its various weaknesses .... then let them develop the next wheel, laser or green revolution. In the meantime don't get fed up by internet-zombies or digital drop-outs. Take your time, enjoy analog barbecue and think pink ;)

All the best my³sch²kin

Jun-01-09  talisman: <WannaBe> what ya think? lsu has got this player chad jones. #1 pick for the astros...that's one million guaranteed just to sign your name. for 2 years now he is not even a starter on the team??? why??? because he has to quit to go to spring training football practice. i coached against this guy my last year. he is a switch hitting willie mays. a 5-tool super star could be. i don't know...if he was my son i feel like i would have to tell him son, there are plenty of people in the nfl who can do what you do. there are very few ior no one in mlb who can do what you do....o yea mlb is guaranteed money and the nfl is not.
