 | | WannaBe: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/comm... Dudes, I may be bias, towards west coast football, but hey, people; get a F!@#$*(^%^%$$ clue, stop hiring big, fat, (virtually) useless coaches... That goes for you too, Univ. of Kansas, get rid of that big fat lard-ass from the sideline!!! (End of my west-coast bias, goodness knows, I don't like Rick, (I won a Rose Bowl with UCLA; coach either...)) |

 | | WannaBe: I've always liked Jim Caple, besides sharing the same first name, I've always felt his view point have always been fair, and fact-backed... From ESPN.com, Page 2:
<I'm saddened by Notre Dame's decision today to fire Charlie Weis with six years still remaining on his contract. I wanted Notre Dame to be stuck with the guy much longer.I used to be a big Notre Dame fan -- How can you grow up Catholic and a passionate college football fan without rooting for the Irish? -- but I turned my back on the school when it fired Tyrone Willingham. At the time, I thought the firing was undeserved, not to mention unbecoming of Notre Dame. Then Willingham took my alma mater to an 0-12 record, and I've since re-evaluated that stance. But what always bothered me was Notre Dame's 2005 decision to award Weis an unjustified contract extension, easily the worst in college football history. Just seven games into the Weis era, Notre Dame tacked on five more seasons to his six-year contract -- all the way to 2015. The Irish were 5-2, and Weis' biggest accomplishment had been almost beating USC. Willingham, meanwhile, started his career at Notre Dame 8-0 but never received a contract extension. And just imagine how long an extension Weis would have gotten had he also almost beaten Florida and Ohio State. Here's what then-Notre Dame athletic director Kevin White said, "In a very short period of time, Charlie has clearly and impressively demonstrated the ability to take the Notre Dame program where we all want it to go.'' Well, where it went was 3-9 in Weis' third year, 7-6 in the next and 6-6 this season. Do the math: It's a lower career winning percentage than those of Willingham or Bob Davie before him. And now Weis is gone, terminated six years early. Damn. I was hoping Notre Dame would award him a lifetime contract, so it would pay some more for its hubris.> |

 | | WannaBe: Group E, is far the Group of Death! Fully expect Brazil and Portugal to come out of Group G... |
|
| Dec-04-09 | | NakoSonorense: Agree! Brazil vs Portugal should be by far the best game of the first round. But don't forget Drogba from Ivory Coast. The guy is a monster and it will not be easy for either Brazil or Portugal! |
|
| Dec-04-09 | | NakoSonorense: By the way, what do you think the USA's chances are in group C? USA vs England should be interesting. I haven't seen Algeria play, so I don't know anything about them. England should easily go through, and I think the second ticket will come from either the USA or Slovenia. |
|
| Dec-04-09 | | NakoSonorense: By the way, are you running a prediction contest like last time? If I remember correctly, <percyblakeney> won it. Can't believe it's been four years already. We've been here for a long, long time. I'm so excited for the World Cup, as you can probably tell from my last 3 posts! |

 | | WannaBe: Team USA have a good chance of advancing, unlike 4 years ago... Yes, there will be a prediction contest, details to be posted next week. |
|
| Dec-04-09 | | dakgootje: heh, it would really be bloody pathetic if the Dutch didn't get through the group-stages. |
|
| Dec-04-09 | | Jim Bartle: "Dudes, I may be bias, towards west coast football, but hey, people; get a F!@#$*(^%^%$$ clue, stop hiring big, fat, (virtually) useless coaches" Anybody remember Dee Andros of Oregon State, a very good coach but a few sizes larger and rounder than Charlie Weis? Dressed in bright orange and was therefore universally known as the Great Pumpkin. http://alumni.oregonstate.edu/state... |

 | | WannaBe: Wow... The curse of the Portland Trailblazers strike again! http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/... |
|
| Dec-06-09 | | A.G. Argent: <...curse...> Yeah, WB, I knew it was all too good to be true, Oden's resurgence this year, that is. Having it all come to a crashing, smashed-knee halt doesn't really surprise me. You get to be a bit cynical about it up here after a while. Still causes a bit of cursing under the breath though. |

here-

They are a reliable, fast growing organization.
Good points:
1. If something "terrible" happens right after you get to a foreign country, they have a "slush fund" to help bail you out 2. The head man, <Ben Glickman>, gives his personal attention to every applicant once they pass the initial phone interview. When he got me this job in Korea, I emailed and phoned him frequently and he always returned messages within 24 hours. He couldn't possibly have been more helpful Here is their "promotional video"
