Dec-27-10  technical draw: <I couldnt even solve a clue!>

That's terrible <OD>. I'm sure you put in a lot of effort too. However funniest kibitzer is NOT a consolation prize. (and I better quit before I peak too early. I have to save the best of the campaign for after Jan. 1).

HeMateMe: Could there be a new category, "best non chess kibitzer"?

I just ask, because some of the people here do a lot of non chess talk, much (not all) of which is interesting. Some of the people who live on the Rogoff page seem to do very little chess kibitzing, but have interesting topics they discuss. Sometimes it brings in whole new groups, who swoop in to defend a particular position near and dear to their heart.

WannaBe: <HeMateMe> Technically, that would qualify as <Best Written Post> nomination... Since the guideline for that category was never truly clarified by either <Nikolaas> or yours truly.

Actually, technically, none of the category have been clarified, except for the <Life Time Achievement>, which last year, I spelled out what <I> considered as to be worthy... Technically.

Dec-28-10  technical draw: Thanks, <WannaBe> for that not so subtle endorsement.

Domdaniel: <WannaBe> Some more nominations. My apologies for making your job harder by doing this in stages, but I can only think small thoughts, one at a time. Here we go ...

Best Analyst: <Dzechiel> & <Eyal>

Best Informed: <Annie K.>

Most Constructive: <Open Defence>

Most Helpful: <hms123>

Best Handle: <SwitchingQuylthulg>

Best Game Collection: <Whiteshark> ... for those *Bloodhounds of Opposite Colors*, if it really exists.

Finally, how about a <Lifetime Achievement Award> for ... <acirce>.

- For being here longer than most of us, and surviving it.

- For having actual games in the database under his other name, including a delightful loss to <Open Defence>

- For consistently defending a political position against folk who don't even know what it is.

- For being consistently Swedish, and surviving that too.

- For making more posts than anyone else, until overtaken by <Jessica>, who (Hi! Hey! Zap! Spaaaam!) uses computer assistance.

- And for winning prizes *every* year in the Clue Hunt Thing.

Is that *good reasons*, boss?

  jessicafischerqueen: Hey!

I didn't use any computer assistance. I manually typed in "quack" over ten thousand times. It took years.

In addition, it's all <Brankat's> fault for discovering- and publicizing- the fact that a "forum page" consists of 25 posts, no matter how short they are.

Ipso fatso, 25 "quacks" makes one page.

Domdaniel: My apologies, yer maj. I mistyped <Zap> instead of <Quack>.

S'pose I'll have to *duck* now ...

Annie K.: Hi <Wannabe>, I'm kinda busy/lazy/both, so I was wondering if you could maybe update your profile with the current nominees for each category, so people like me would only have to post nominations if their candidates are not already listed?

(Not to mention that all this "multiple nomination" business is confusing, in that people may mistake it for the <voting> itself, and therefore not return to actually vote when the time comes.) ;)

WannaBe: <Annie K.> Not a problem, just give me a day, this will also serve as a marker such that I know who have already been entered into my record.

Best Handle/Name: Domdaniel (that's actually a word, something a lot of people don't seem to be aware of...) ;)

Everybody else is already nominated. :)
