jessicafischerqueen: We have a crazy date for our new year too= ours was on

"Ee-whal sam-il"

Now I understand that in Nanking, your current address, it will soon be the year of the Rabbit?

I don't have a multi-Asian calendar in front of me so I'm not sure.

I believe in Thailand it's the year of the Tufted Rock Hyrax, but I could well be mistaken.

WannaBe: Here's to you, Mr. Jerry Sloan, when you first got the job with the Jazz, I was a junior at Wilson High in Long Beach!!

I thought, (really), you would out-last everyone, but alas, all good things must come to an end.

I will always remember those pick'n'rolls with Stockton and Malone that no one 'seems' can defend.

As a life-time Lakers fan, and witness to more games between L.A. and Utah, you're the leader of a great team/franchise, and a face that everyone recognized and respected.

Enjoy your time fishing, hunt'ng and just do what every you want!! Especially if that means sleeping in until '8:30' in the morning. =)

WannaBe: Okay, you want to know why people 'everywhere' else, thinks southerners as rednecks, football crazed, moonshine drinkin', NASCAR lovin' and stupid?! I know, it only take one of you, and therefore, I give you exhibition A.

Feb-17-11  Jim Bartle: The thing is Southerners are also the loyal families waiting for days outside a mine after an explosion deep in the earth. Solid, unpretentious, wholly admirable people.
Feb-17-11  TheFocus: Thank you <Jim Bartle>

I am American by birth.

Georgian by luck of the draw!

SOUTHERN by the grace of GOD!!

No matter where I travel on this Earth, just to hear a Southern accent makes my heart skip a beat.

Contrary to what most people think, all Southerners do not have the same accent. Each state is different.

I myself speak with a Georgian accent but also speak Mountain dialect.

Southerners are also able to bury their accents quite readily, but when other Southerners are around (or you get on the phone to friends or family), it surfaces very easily.

Phony Benoni: <WannaBe> No problem with your post on the Stumpers page. Since when I have ever taken anything you posted seriously?

I got the answer quickly enough, but couldn't think of a good way to answer without giving it away. Ice fishing is rather lame.

I was always the kid in class who enthusiastically answered all the questions, until one teacher sat me down and said in no uncertain terms to shut up and let other people answer. I'm still fighting that tendency today.

Phony Benoni: <I was reading your suggestion to CG.com in regards to Tactical puzzle submission, in which it was a link directly to the post. Can you tell me how you were able to calculate the number? I know it's the page, and then 25 per page plus existing, minus any deleted posts.

Enquiring minds wants to know! Thanks.>

Easy enough. Find the post using the <Search Kibitzing> page. The link given there goes directly to the post, so just copy it. Don't have to go to the page or use math.

WannaBe: Quite honestly, (and, yes, I am a bit ashamed, to admit this...) I really thought that ol' Spartacus heself had gone to up to the greater arena.

When I saw him tonight, I was 'a bit' over-joyed. I grew up watching his movies, (Okay, so my mother had his movies on TV and I was not allowed to change the channel...) But I vividly, (allow me to stress VIVIDLY) remember some of his great moving pictures.

Watching him tonight, brought a joy to me, unlike any other, to know, that, even after Pepsi used (probably, one of the most climatic movie ending scene, ever, to this date.) that he was up on stage, and 'hitting' up on the girls...

Bravo, Kirk, bravo. (It is, in a slight way, too bad, that I can't see your cleft chin anymore... =)

I, Am, Spartacus!! (Or is it I, Am, Spock)??

But I am so glad, that you made it to the Oscars this year.

  jessicafischerqueen: My Dear <MannBee>

Although you have helped me so many times with computer problems, who knew you were also an expert on "Korean guy in your hall" ettiquette?

You were correct!

<Peking Duck>

Yes, the guy was trying to look inside my apartment and I was naked too.

Acting on your advice, I phoned the police.

Unfortunately, since I can't speak Korean, the police never came- but around 45 minutes later, a large Hawaiian Pizza *did* in fact come.

Needless to say, your advice was sound- my execution was just a bit faulty.

Thanks-hms123

WannaBe: Oh, boy, Doc, is that a prime?! It is obviously an odd number, and too short to be one of the CG game, since they start in the million...

Whoo... I need to spend some time looking at it.

If you add all the digits together is 2, the first two digits are 11, but the last two are 10, if you look at it binarily, it is 3, and 2, which is a total of 5, in binary it is 101.

Okay, I definitely need some time on this Stumper...

  WannaBe: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a0dd...

A few things strikes me as 'funny' as I watched this video.

1. They claim to be 100 Gypsy Violins, but I have never seen a violin placed/played between the legs or be struck with a mallet...

2. The conductor a.k.a. fatboy, looks more like Luciano Pavaratti than a conductor...

3. They don't have sheet music in front of them, hence, they are all 'finger-sync'ng'...

4. No 'real' orchestra have 20 bassists, hence, they are not real, and non-existent...

5. The fatboy, a.k.a. conductor's baton is way too big...

6. Any 'real' orchestra that doesn't have at least 3 banjo players and 2 cow-bell players should not even been consider to be an 'orchestra'...

WannaBe: I do not understand cricket, (Not the insect, or the dart game...) but the one that is played on a pitch, and you win by runs or wickets.

http://www.espncricinfo.com/icc_cri...

It is funny, as I read the results, some game are marked as Team A won by 3 wickets, or Team D won by 213 runs(!!)

I, as usual, am confused as heck. If the NFL have a lockout next season, I promise to 'learn' more about the game of cricket...

Mar-05-11  Benzol: Maybe http://static.espncricinfo.com/db/A... will help. On the other hand maybe it won't.

:)

Mar-05-11  dakgootje: <or Team D won by 213 runs(!!)>

They probably played the Dutch..
