WannaBe: Absolutely 'crazy' sequences... Usc throws an INT, the defensive lineman running with the ball then gets hit and fumbles the ball into and out of end zone for touchback (no TD) Next play, Usc goes from their own 20 to N'Western's 20 (60 yards).

Domdaniel: <WannaBe> Thanks for the Klu. Still stumped, but it gets those puzzle juices flowing.

Is it true, btw, that Joseph M Bradford got an IM title at the age of 57? There's hope for all of us, even AJ.

I have an idea for the Caissars too. People with innaresting profiles, cool avatars, or stupendous game collections get to have 10 votes. Other preemy members get 5 votes. Non-preemy members who have tried to get in the spirit of things, 3 votes. The rest get one vote.

Sure, it isn't democratic. But we have to make sacrifices as chessplayers.

;)

WannaBe: <Domdaniel> Yes, Bradford, have achieved the IM norm, (fortunately, it happened about 5 seconds after I took the photo, and blinded his opponent... Shameless plug here.)

Work on my puzzle, it is completely anti-computer and anti-google. I know I posted 2 weeks, but it was such an tempting offer, it took me less time than that.

I personally expect to achieve my first 'expert' norm by 2055. When I am 120 years old.

WannaBe: I am not traveling back to SoCal this weekend, which means, I will be able to spend some times at the Mechanics Institute in San Francisco and the Chess Club...

I hope my rear end wont't be so sore afterwards.

  WannaBe: Fourth paragraph: http://www.presstelegram.com/opinio...

<And the coming months of danger would begin with the staggering stupidity of the Bay of Pigs invasion. It convinced Nikita Khrushchev, the 67-year-old grandson of a serf and son of a coal miner, that Kennedy, the 43-year-old son of privilege, was too callow to ...>

This is almost 'verbatim' from the book 'Area 51' I need to go back, and double check it, but it sounds very, very eeriely similiar.

I have read G. Will for a long, long time, and I have no doubt, that he would <NOT> 'copy' something out of a previously published work and not give credit.

But, this paragraph, just sounds too similiar, I will have to check up on it and get back. (Yes, this is the current book that I am reading... I am not making this stuff up, it <WAS> a weather balloon. Sent up by <technical draw>!! Attached to the balloon was a note, asking for 'donation' of 20$! =)

http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/san-fra...

Aug-25-11  NakoSonorense: <WannaBe> Are tremors more common in the Bay Area than in SoCal? Another friend of mine who's originally from SF but now lives in LA said on that she feels nostalgic for all the earthquake statuses she's been seeing on facebook... Go figure.

WannaBe: Ah, I finished 'Area 51' by Annie Jacobsen, very interesting read, mostly, if not all of it is historical/history of the area, if you are expecting a lot of alien autopsy, you will be disappointed.

Good book, easy read, but if I tell you anymore, I'd have to kill you.

jessicafischerqueen: <MannBee> speaking of "user induced error" I was downloading some AIDS recently, thinking it was a chess book.

Imagine my surprise when I next rebooted my computer and a screen came up

"Catastrophic Failure"

Do you think that was a good, or bad sign?

Luckily "System Restore" saved yet another poor computer from wanton user abuse.

WannaBe: <jessicafischerqueen> Good thing it was a Cat-astrophic Failure, no one wants to a Wabbit-astrophic Failure. Trust me.
