Jan-14-12  Benzol: <Best/Worst Pun> : Drawma Queen.
Jan-14-12  morfishine: Best Pun: "I am not a Rook"
Jan-14-12  Once: <Colonel Mortimer> Can I politely suggest that you arrange a pile of comfy cushions around yourself? If you are not sitting that you adopt a seated posture? That you ensure there are no sharp objects nearby?

You see, I agree with you.

Hope that wasn't too far to fall! No, I wouldn't ever vote for myself either, whether the rules allowed it or not. But that's just me and - by the sound of it - you too. If the rules allow it, then there can be no censure for those who do vote for themselves. As TD says, thems is the rules.

Best analysis: We've got some fabulous analysts on this site, so it's very hard to pick a favourite. But I'm going to define "best" here as most helpful analysis rather than most exhaustive. And on that basis, my vote goes to <dzechiel>, who is as much a part of my morning routine as a cup of coffee and breakfast.

Worst pun: Was there really a "The proof is in the Blu-Ding"??? Kerching. That gets my vote. Spectacularly awful.

Jan-14-12  batongol: Maybe it's just too late...but I would like to manifest my votes for...

<wordfunph> - most constructive

<nanobrain> - analysis

Best Pun: I Am Not A Rook

The pun is an allusion to U.S. President Richard Nixon's (in)famous speech in which he stated "I am not a crook." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sh16... The game was played by R. Nixon, in 1973 (the same year as Nixon's speech), and it featured a sacrifice of rook for bishop by the winner. R Nixon vs A Anselmo, 1973 You don't get much better than that.

Jan-14-12  technical draw: Best pun: I am not a rook.
Jan-14-12  TiburcioTinio: <NANOBRAIN> for best analysis, both ways, all categories!
Jan-14-12  hms123: <Wannabe>

Thank you very much for running this great contest. You have done a marvelous job of broadening the range of members who participated. While I know that some have tried to make it difficult, your hard work and good cheer are greatly appreciated.

<Illigitemi non carborundum>

I would also like to thank all of those who voted for me as <most helpful>. It is refreshing to be reminded about what a nice community there is present at the chessgames.com site.
