Jan-31-12  BadKnight: <Did you know, that Chessgames.com have a team on GameKnot?? Would like to join* ?? Do you like to play chess and go rah-rah for your team?! And it's free?? And we don't care about your rating!?

If so, please contact me, by posting a message here.

*Requires minimum 5 rated wins on GameKnot to join team. Does <NOT> require prem. acct. on CG and/or GK. But you must have a registered/verified name on CG and GK.>

I am interested. I would like to know more..

Jan-31-12  Shams: <Wow, that cheerleader is RIPPED.>

I just couldn't date a woman who could maul me at arm wrestling.

Jan-31-12  NakoSonorense: <Further proof, that the world will end in 2012> That's it -- I'm doing 10 pushups every time I lose a chess game. I should look like her within a couple of weeks.
Jan-31-12  TheFocus: We like our women strong in Georgia. You never can tell when you need someone to watch your back when a brawl breaks out in the beer joint.
Jan-31-12  BadKnight: Thanks. I have sent a request to join the team. I am h8dgeh0g on gameknot.
Jan-31-12  BadKnight: I think I can handle two matches i.e. four games at one time. 5-7 days/move is probably optimum for me, 7 preferable. I usually make moves much faster than this, but sometimes when I have to make a critical decision I like to have more time. And sometimes I get busy with other things or become just plain lazy. Any shorter time control than 5 days/move and I might risk losing games on time, as often I simply don't check gameknot anytime other than weekends. I am expecting to play opponents of roughly my level (~1700 ish on gameknot, not stabilized yet because I did not play enough games.)

WannaBe: <NakoSonorense> The way you are playing, you'd be doing push-ups every 3 weeks.

The way I play, I'd be doing push-ups every hour!!

WannaBe: Somehow, A. Bynum is voted as starter on the All-Star team. I did not know his resemblance to Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was that strong.

I think LA should have 2 teams, because:

1. We need more fans killing/mugging each other.

2. We need 2 owners charging 10K per season ticket, if you have a family, be ready to fork over 30K (Half off on kids under the age of 2, else adult ticket.)

3. By having 2 stadiums, the property values will increase, 1,000X fold! That is more than Facebook's stock will be in 3 weeks!

4. More work for LAPD, and more overtime pay, hence, more money into the economy.

5. Did you notice that the economy of L.A. County have dropped, since the departure of the Raiders back to Oakland and Rams going to St. L.?

6. Because Ray Lewis said, if NFL goes on strike crime rate would soar. Hence, by having 2 NFL teams in L.A., the city would be (almost/virtually) crime free, and be the envy of the world.

7. It will give all of SoCal something else to talk about besides how much money Vanessa Bryant got from Kobe.

8. Compared to 2.5 miles per hour in rush hour traffic, that 3.0 yards per rush looks really good!!

9. There is no number 9.

WannaBe: <Shams> The Lakers had thought about signing Lin, http://espn.go.com/los-angeles/nba/...

Surprisingly, the only team that have not come out and said "We thought about signing Lin" is the Washington Generals!

WannaBe: <OhioChessFan> I was amazed at how many 'yip's he had while putting... But it was so nice to see Phil give his wife that big hug after the 18th hole before he signed the scorecard.

On a side note, glad to see Romo standing besides a winner! (Tongue very in cheek!)

WannaBe: Just saw The Captains, by William Shatner, need less Shatner and more of everyone else.
Feb-13-12  brankat: <WannaBe> I haven't seen the movie. Actually this is the first time I hear of it. When You say: <..by William Shatner..> does it mean he directed the movie? Does he also play a role in the movie?

WannaBe: <brankat> It's where he goes and interviews Picard, Janeway, Sisko, Archer, and Kirk (Christopher Pine, from the movie. Never knew that Chris's father played on CHiPs! I used to watch that show =)

It's about the role of playing Starfleet captain, affects on personal life, etc... it's about 95 min.

Shatner is the director/writer/producer and all the cameramen, makeup, etc. are all Canadian crew.

Feb-13-12  brankat: Thank You for the explanation.

Btw, I also used to watch CHIPs, early 1980s, I think.
