Feb-07-06  Robin01: I wonder how much kibizing we are getting on our game here. I'm sure everybody is pointing out all our mistakes.

WannaBe: <Robin01> I'm sure... We'll find out once this game is over. Have to and read all the pages of kibitzing on <EmperorAtahualpa> and <who> pages.

Gonna get my self a nice cup of coffee and spend hour(s) reading those. And chuckle to myself. =)

Feb-07-06  Robin01: We should maybe ask <EmperorAtahualpa> not to delete them until we have a chance to read them, just in case he has plans to delete them.
Feb-07-06  Robin01: Well, they have not answered immediately, so that is good news.

WannaBe: We can do 29...Kxf8 30. Qf2+ (Rf1+) Kg8 which is kinda like castling, by moving our king behind the pawns for protection. And g8 is a light colored square, which their bishop can't threaten. Also, Kxf8 takes away Qxf7.

But however, if we play 29...Kxf8 followed by 30.Bxe5 our Q has to move, then white will play 31. Qxg7+ so looks like Kxf8 is not a good move.

Never mind Kxf8...

  WannaBe: Now, 29...Bxf8... um....
Feb-07-06  Robin01: I believe of the three lines I analyzed, 29.Rxf8 was their strongest reply.
Feb-07-06  Robin01: Where is our fear-less Captain?!
Feb-07-06  RonB52734: I'm here, but no time to analyze. I'll be home by about 10 p.m. EST and I'll check it out. I'm relieved at the straightforward exchange here (although, again, I haven't analyzed it at all).

WannaBe: Okay, this is from the earlier post by <Robin01> I've edited it somewhat for easier reading, but nothing else was changed,

<29.Rxf8+ Bxf8 30.Rxe5 Qd6
OR
29.Rxf8+ Bxf8 30.Bxe5 Qa7+>

I think we can agree that of the 2 possible choice Kx or Bx; the Bxf8 is better.

Feb-07-06  Robin01: I do believe 29...Bxf8 is better. However, let us not move too fast. We have until tomorrow afternoon, which will give us longer to analyze the position here and beyond.
Feb-07-06  Robin01: <29...Bxf8 30.Rxe5 Qd6> I've been looking at this line. If white continues 31.Bc5, we may have to trade our queen for a bishop and the rook by playing 31...Qxc5. It looks bad, but maybe we can hold the position with good play. Good news is still have the bishop pair; bad news is our king can be battered around with many checks.
Feb-07-06  Robin01: I do not see many alternatives here. Maybe white will play 30.Bxe5, which might be better for us. I'm still analyzing this line.
Feb-07-06  Robin01: Maybe we have a better move than 30...Qd6 also.

  WannaBe: if 29...Bxf8

30. Bxe5 Qb6+ (Qa7+)

I do not believe they'll play Qf2 to block and trade Qs. Qb6+ puts a protector for the bishop, while Qa7+ does not.

30. Bxe5 Bc5+!? 31 Qe3 Bxe3 32. Bxb8 Rxb8 33. Rxe5 this leave the game with B + R vs N + R vs equal pawns.

WannaBe: I'll try and look some more...
Feb-07-06  RonB52734: Well, Kxf8 really looks bad because of all the pressure on g7. So I think Bxf8 is the best move available here.
Feb-07-06  RonB52734: And I'd want to look at their response of Qe3, adding pressure on the e file
Feb-08-06  Robin01: <Well, Kxf8 really looks bad because of all the pressure on g7> I agree with that. So I vote here for 29...Bxf8.
Feb-08-06  RonB52734: Ok, looks like three of us are in for BxR
Feb-08-06  sitzkrieg: four that is.
Feb-08-06  RonB52734: Ok, I'll post it. We're running out of time again.
Feb-08-06  RonB52734: Current position, white to play:
