Jan-01-13  NakoSonorense: Happy New Year, <WannaBe>!

How did you like the new Pauley? My friend was heartbroken after her school's nail-biting defeat in OT.

WannaBe: <hangingenprise> I am rooting for the Pac-12 team, plus they beat us twice. =)

<NakoSonorense> The floor and its layout doesn't look all that different, I am sure the outside is quite another story.

Jan-01-13  Jim Bartle: A new Pauley? The legendary building is closing?

I had a friend who was a little-used sub for Cal. After his first game at UCLA, he told me "can you believe I actually played at Pauley Pavilion?"

WannaBe: <Jim Bartle> They just did some remodeling, much like what Stanford did with the football stadium, last year, the BBall team was a traveling road show. =)

The outside was extended, inside was re-done. I am sure you can find some pictures online.

Jan-01-13  Jim Bartle: All Pac-8/Pac-10 people considered Pauley to be like a cathedral from the time it was built until at least the early 80s. Of course it wasn't just the building, it had something to do with who played and coached there.
Jan-01-13  Jim Bartle: Just looking at an aerial shot of the Rose Bowl. It really does look like a bowl.

I only went to one game there, New Years Day 1972. Stanford 13, Michigan 12.
