  WannaBe: Currently reading:

"EndGame" by Frank Brady (on Fischer) and "Endurance" by Worsley, (on Sir Shackleton)

Great reads.

WannaBe: 0-0, UCLA vs. LSU after 3 full innings. College World Series in Omaha.

I bet <talisman> is paying attention!!!!

Jun-16-13  Jim Bartle: Those aluminum bats are scary. Think of the damage that ball that hit the pitcher this week would have done with a metal bat.

The major leagues make enough money to buy wooden bats for college ball.

WannaBe: <Jim Bartle> 2(?) year ago, they shrank the bat, it's now 'almost' the same as wood bat, without the breakage and the cost to replace them.

WannaBe: Wow, what a pain in the bee-hind, updated Win7 Ultimate to the latest Java patch/update.

Had to change my browser setting to medium (It was Med-High) and change the java control console to medium, too.

Then I can see the Deluxe Chess Viewer II. I wonder if this was what happened to <playground player>.

WannaBe: I swear, after Oracle took over Java, things just went downhill.

On my Win8 machine, I got the notification to update, which I click, and it went through the installation.

Tried to view a game, and nothing happened. Went to control panel -> Java and see the version is still 21.

Manually downloaded the installer, and went through the installation again. Was able to view the games with Chess Viewer Deluxe II.

The java console shows version 25, when I went to control panel -> Java -> about, it shows version 21.

Grrrrrr.....

  chancho: Java is now Crappa.
Jun-19-13  technical draw: I went through the same thing with Java. But barring any future surprise I came out unscathed.

It's nine, not 13.
