WannaBe: So, the Tata Steel blitz were held in India, and players have 6 days to fly to NED for the next (or 2026 first) major event... What is the flight path? Here are some ideas: https://www.flightroutes.com/CCU-AMS

WannaBe: <OCF> Not to mention when TV stations switch red (dem) and blue (rep) to what we know today... On a similar note, in Asia, if the stock shows red, it mean up, green, means down. Go fig.

Sep-10-13  NakoSonorense: <J. Uribe, 3 HRs!!!!! Only the end of 5th.>

Did not manage to catch Shawn Green's 4 homers, but he did get an RBI single. Good game for him overall, except for the error.

WannaBe: Them Trees beat Army, and later, in about 30 minutes, Buckeyes at Cal.
Sep-14-13  Jim Bartle: Ohio State playing at Cal is just huge for the Bay Area, at the revamped stadium. But OSU is going to kill them.

WannaBe: Ohio St. 21 Cal 0, 9 minutes left FIRST QUARTER. You read that right.
Sep-14-13  Jim Bartle: Oh Jesus. Tightwad Hill will be empty soon.

Sep-14-13  Jim Bartle: 24-14. The sweetest-sounding score ever.

That's how Stanford finally defeated USC in 1970, after devastating losses by 27-24 and 26-24 the previous two years.

  WannaBe: <Jim Barble> 38-20 now...
Sep-14-13  Jim Bartle: Cal's doing better than I thought, after they barely beat Portland State.

Oops, OSU scored again.

I wish I were there. I must have gone to 25 games there as a kid, and as a junior and senior in high school I was a gofer with the Cal band, so I went to all the home games plus the away games in LA and Washington. Saw OJ and Beban from the field.

WannaBe: Useless info department, every team in NFC East lost today, every team in AFC West, won.
Sep-21-13  Jim Bartle: Ohio State 76 Florida A&M 0

Oh, please, let someone smash them one time, really run up the score.

Sep-21-13  Jim Bartle: Yeah, I guess the first-string guy is injured. I see Michigan is losing to UConn, must be busting you up.

Sep-23-13  JimNorCal: Hey, just noticed your comment on the Hans Kmoch page from back in Jan. If you would enjoy pushing some wood around on a Friday eve, a couple of buddies and I regularly meet at the Palo Alto Roasting Company (aka PA Cafe) starting 6:30 or so (they close at 9pm sharp). It's on Middlefield, near Oregon Expy.
We play 10 min blitz typically. Friendly group, you would be very welcome.
