| Feb-15-06 | | RonB52734: It is troublesome, however; <Nako>'s last two posts were January 28 (regarding move 21) and February 5 (regarding move 27). He will soon have missed half of the game, whether measured in terms of days or moves. I would value having another person help to crunch these positions. |

| Feb-15-06 | | RonB52734: Current position after 34...Kd7:
click for larger viewI've been looking at lines that involve an immediate Queen check on the d-file. I think the key to these is that we not remove our Rook from the back rank just yet, because it is possible for White to continue with an attack on the f8 Bishop. Our Queenside pawns are asking to be pushed. Our bishops are well placed to support an attack there. |
| Feb-15-06 | | sitzkrieg: I think it might be a good idea to substitute cogano for Nako. I am sure Nako won't mind, he is not too much involved anymore. |

Cool. We are even going to attack again? |

 | | WannaBe: The one issue/problem that I can see with a 'late' game substitution is the substutee(?) may have already seen analysis on <who>'s page or <blingice>'s page. Then team white may very well object. This is my main concern. |

 | | WannaBe: If they want to Qd2+/Qd3+/Qd4+, there is a possibility that we can duck back to e7? Or would that give white some kind of an adv? Have to take out a board later and examine this possibility. Now, they can also try something Ne4 then Nc5, and try to get some pressure on the Q-side pawns, getting the B + K + p in a 3 way fork. |

 | | WannaBe: I was so rooting for that pug and golden retriever last night... |
| Feb-15-06 | | Robin01: So which puppy won? |
Feb-15-06
 | | WannaBe: <Robin01> Rufus won (Colored Bull Terrier)... Click on the photo and you get more details on the dog. http://www.westminsterkennelclub.org/ |
| Feb-15-06 | | Robin01: Is not Rufus a relative of "Spud McKenzie" the Bud dog!? |
Feb-15-06
 | | WannaBe: <Robin01> Yep, Spud's Bull Terrier (white) http://www.westminsterkennelclub.or... |
| Feb-15-06 | | Robin01: <If they went to Qd2+/Qd3+/Qd4+> I think 35...Kc7 is our best move in this case. |
| Feb-16-06 | | Robin01: Well, off to work. I will be out until around 8:00 this evening. Talk to everybody later. |
| Feb-16-06 | | Cogano: <RonB52734> Thank you kindly for your prompt reply. I would have replied sooner myself, were it not for one of those once in a blue moon emergencies. I say once in a blue moon because all is well now & it's highly unlikely that
anything further will happen at this point. As for joining your team: I have read ZERO kibitzing about your game. While I've been fascinated by the
latest positions(s) of it, I never bothered to read other kibitzer's views
on it (maybe that's foolish or selfish or just plain lazy. But that's what happened!) I do NOT have access to any chess softwares to analyze any game. So, I have NOT analyzed anything with a man-made computer, only with the one in my head! LOL! Finally, I think you should reconsider as it would be in your best interests. It's up to you. The offer is still on the table. Good luck whatever you decide. I just wish there was a faster way to know of your decision (specifically if you change your mind &
include me) so I can timely provide my input before you have to submit your latest move! Take very good care all & have a great day. Cheers! :) |
| Feb-16-06 | | Cogano: <WannaBe> I swear that I have NOT read nor obtained any form of analysis of your game ANYWHERE! I don't know what I
could possibly do to reassure you & your team of that! The offer remains on
the table. Take very good care all & have a great day. Cheers mates! |

 | | WannaBe: they have played a4

Feb-16-06
 | | WannaBe: This is fascinating... What are they seeing?
35...Bxb3 36. axb5 axb5 37. Nxb5 Bc4+ and we can win the N. 35...Bxb3 36. Qd(2/3/4)+ Kc7 (as recommended by <Robin01>. I don't see much after that. As long as our king remain on the 7th row I think we are relatively safe. Example, 35...Bxc3 36. Qd(2/3/4)+ Kc7 37. Nd5+ Bxd5 38. Qxd5 bxa4?! I don't see what white saw... |
Feb-16-06
 | | WannaBe: Maybe they just want to sucker us into taking that b-pawn? |
| Feb-16-06 | | sitzkrieg: That may be but I don't see any problem after Bxb3. Anyone? |
| Feb-16-06 | | dakgootje: <WannaBe> is the one who loses today's puzzle the same as http://mysite.verizon.net/jyu1/Tayl... ? |
Feb-16-06
 | | WannaBe: <dakgootje> I very highly doubt it. =) |
| Feb-16-06 | | RonB52734: I have quickly read the latest posts. Very busy just now. Will log on this evening. |
| Feb-16-06 | | Robin01: a4! I was not expecting that. I thought they were going to keep us on the run with their queen for a while. I will have to analyze this later tonight as I am too busy right now. I probably will not get back on the computer until about 10:30 EST this evening. I would have thought (at first glance at this position) that the exchange of queenside pawns would favor us, however, maybe they have found some tactic in the position. |
| Feb-16-06 | | RonB52734: By the way, my only remaining concern about replacing <Nako> is hearing from <Nako> himself. |
| Feb-16-06 | | Cogano: <RonB52734> I don't think there'd be much harm in trying to contact him via chessgames.com's e-mail. You can try sending chessgames.com an e-mail & request that they forward a request from you to <Nako> that he e-mail you back at the address provided, the one you sent the e-mail to cg.com in the first place! Unless you're not comfortable sharing your address with him! Good luck whatever you decide. Take very good care & have a great day.
Cheers mate! |
