WannaBe: <plang> I don't see how it matters, Sunday games are usually 1PM affairs for LAD home game. 3PM start time would be just about 6th or 7th inning. If the game is Sunday Night on ESPN, first pitch is usually 4PM. I don't see any difference, if I am paid millions a year, I'll ...

WannaBe: Observed something weird. Using W11, Chrome Version 141.0.7390.108 (Official Build) (64-bit) the divide line between kibitz'n are some normal thin-ness, while others are randomly a bit thicker. Not a big deal, just want to comment on this. (both regular mode and incog mode)

Oct-19-22  technical draw: <WannaBe> Sorry, I couldn't join you in the <losers> group (Oh, that was pretty mean!) since the Yankees move on to the ALCS. And they will be playing against my second least favorite team the Houston Astros (my most hated team is the Atlanta Braves). I don't want to count my chickens and all that but I'm wondering who the Yanks will be playing in the World series? Ok, <Wanna> I'll see you again next season.
Oct-23-22  technical draw: Uh, oh, Karma time. Yankees are down 3-0 in the ALCS. My world series dreams are dashed. The Yankees, dem bums!

It ain't over till it's over?

Oct-24-22  technical draw: <diceman> True. I remember when the Yankees were up 3-0 against Boston in the ALCS and then lost the next 4 games, the last two in Yankee stadium. Not even Mario Rivera could win a game. That was the worse Yankees series ever.

WannaBe: <technical draw> The worst/best Yankees series ever was vs Dodgers in 1981. ðŸĪŠðŸĪĢâšūâšūâšū
Oct-24-22  technical draw: <WannaBe>. The 1981 world series wasn't too bad. The Yanks at least won 2 games.

What happened to:

We'll get'um next year!

Oct-24-22  technical draw: My most painful Yankees lost was the 2004 ALCS against the Boston Red Sox. The Yanks were up 3-0. All they had to do was win one game of the next four and they were in the world series. But alas it was not to be. They lost the next two games in Boston but not to worry the last two games will be played in Yankee stadium. Surely the Yanks could win one of two games at home, right? But they did not. Not even Mariano Rivera could save one game. It was just awful.

Even Boston's David Ortiz lost hope when the Yanks were up 3-0 saying that the Yankees were "their daddy". He himself thought the Red Sox could not win four in a row. But such is life. Even when you think it's all over, it ain't over till it's over.

chancho: Having lived in Massachusetts, that was <THE MOST> Glorious moment as a Red Sox fan.

Those Yankees had won <27 World Series> and Boston hadn't won since 1918, so the Yankees can go to blazes!!

😉😉😉😉😉

Yes, I guess so. That was an unforgettable series. However for a Yankees fan it will be a day that will live in infamy!

If you start the video at 2:20 you will hear the announcer say Yankees win it 3-2.

The problem? They are on the road, and it wasn't a make up game, which the announcer later made up for it, by saying "Yankees now leads it 3-2".

OhioChessFan: No idea how you can homer choking up on the bat that much.
Oct-26-22  Z free or die: What a moment.

Rivera, one of the greatest closers of all time on the mound, EVERYBODY knowing a steal was coming, Posada firing a bullet to second, and Roberts just sliding safe under Jeter's majestic swipe tag.

Nov-01-22  technical draw: One gambler is set to win $75 million dollars if the Houston Astros win the World Series. The bet "only" cost him $500,000. I guess if you're a high roller you have to have nerves of steel.
Nov-03-22  technical draw: Houston gets first combined no-hitter in World Series history. (Don Larsen has the only other no hitter in World Series in history). The gambler must be pretty happy just about now.

WannaBe: Mezcal vs Tequila... I never knew.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bcf...

Nov-04-22  technical draw: I've never tasted Mezcal but I have tried tequila. And I hate it! I don't understand how people can drink that foul tasting tequila. Well 100 million Mexicans can't be wrong but as for me, no thanks. (anyway I haven't had any alcoholic drink for over 30 years so maybe I shouldn't opine).
Nov-06-22  technical draw: Well, the big gambler won $75,000,000. However if you think he's going to invest it in safe stocks or bonds then you don't know gamblers. If you bet $500,000 on the world series your $75 million will just be bet on other propositions. And sooner or later the man will be tap city and looking around for someone to loan him money for his next bet.

That's the life of a gambler. Money means nothing. Betting is everything. For now he has the thrill of victory but soon he'll have the agony of defeat.

Nov-06-22  whiteshark: The figures speak for themselves.
