Mar-17-06  Robin01: I'm not sure I want to accept a time forfeit. If the director will not adjudicate as a draw, why do we not play on. I do not like to lose on time. Why don't you say something like, if white cannot then show some progress in the next 10 moves, then you definitely need to adjudicate this as a draw.
Mar-17-06  RonB52734: Ok, <Robin01>, as I said, I will play on as long as any member of the team wants to. So I will post a move in the time control as well as some sort of statement as you propose. Let's have our votes then. I think we can just keep moving the king between e6-d6-c6. I guess I'll switch my vote to Kc6. What say the rest of ye?
Mar-17-06  Robin01: I also vote for 55...Kc6.
Mar-17-06  hitman84: hi dudes,

Enemy in the camp :)

you guys surely have had a great time..
I am reading your forum from page 1.

<WannaBe>Dude you a comedian ?

Mar-17-06  Cogano: Sorry for my late comments folks. I was under heavy sedation all of yesterday. :( As for asking for a draw, isn't that a way of giving up? You're essentially saying that not only are you convinced, within reasonable doubt, that they can win, you are also saying that they will win, that we can't stop them from doing so, & that it's impossible for them to err in any way, shape or form at any point during the future of the game. I strenuously disagree with this analysis & firmly believe that we do, in fact, have a winning chance, & not merely a drawing one. But you're welcome to disagree.

I just think that it's a shame & a defeatest attitude to ask for a draw, which at least may develop into a habit &/or an attitude that may/will cost you winnable games in the future, just because you misperceived them as hopeless draws! My official vote is against such a request. If you're aiming for a majority, then my vote might as well be silence. If you're aiming for unanimity, then I apologize for any & all inconvience incurred by continuing the game just because of my lone vote. As alway, thank you most kindly for your anticipated & continued patience, tolerance, understanding, consideration & assistance. Take very good care & have a great day & a great weekend too. Cheers to all! :)

P.S. I would be most pleased & honoured to play a game with you <Robin01>, with any of you for that matter, at this game's conclusion. When this game concludes, we can work out the details. I look forward to the experience. :)

WannaBe: <hitman84> I'm not a professional comedian. Just a fellow who's witty (I think.) and like to have fun.

And very often, I like to pretend I'm stupid and say dumb things. =)

Mar-17-06  RolandTesh: <WannaBe>

Happy Paddy Day! Nice temporary avatar switch.

Since you got us started on Irish jokes:

Best Irish Pick-Up Line:
"Have you ever kissed the Blarney Stone?"

Mar-17-06  sitzkrieg: vote Kc6

I like the proposal of asking <Metoplay> for arbitrage and <nitemares> for a winning line, so I suggest to put that with it. I dont mind a time forfeit, but also think we should play on if teammembers want that.

So lets make a move and a request for arbitrage at the same time.

Mar-17-06  sitzkrieg: <swapmeat> is right, what happened to midnightblue?

WannaBe: I did nothing!! NOTHING I say, (no digging in my backyard!)

I hope to switch back in about 12 hours. =)

Mar-17-06  Cogano: Hello again <Ron> & I sincerely hope this finds you well. Sorry I overlooked your post asking us to vote. So sorry about that. I second <Robin01> on Kc6. After that it's Qa8+, leading to a draw, Qf3+ giving up the 8th rank after Kc7, or Qc6+.

If 56.Qc6+, then 56...Rc7, 57.Qa8/e8+ Kb6

(although Qe6 is more ideal because they can still go to the 6th rank with check & protect the pawn from there. In fact, it saves them a tempo because once they jump to g6 from e8, it sets it up in place to assist the Kingside advance. But I guess that also makes it overloaded!)

58.Qg6+ Ka7, 59.h4 Be5+, 60.Kh1

(trying to keep to light-coloured squares!)

60...Rd1+, 61.Kg2 Rd2+, 62.Kf1 Rd1+, 63.Ke2 Rg1, 64.Ke3 Re1+, 65.Kf3 Rg1, 66.Kf2 Rg3 or 66.Ke4 Bf6.

That's as far as I can see now. Take care all! :)

Mar-17-06  schnarre: <WannaBe> If you've joined the "gameknot crew", feel free to drop a challenge my way! Hang in there!
Mar-17-06  sitzkrieg: Captain, Team.. To continue some sliming i did on the metoplay page, I want you to know I had much fun in going through this game with you and have greatly appreciated the diverse analysis. It was good working with you. Even more, i have to say that this was the best correspondence chess team I have ever worked with;)
Mar-17-06  sitzkrieg: So to be short; Thank you:)
Mar-17-06  sitzkrieg: Kinda sad for the new guy of the Knightmares though. He just joined, and already the game is going to end..
Mar-17-06  RonB52734: <sitzkrieg> As I said to <WannaBe>, it has been a great pleasure and a privilege to be your teammate. I have enjoyed every move of it. Thank you.
Mar-17-06  RonB52734: Ok, I've deleted that one, too. LOL

Mar-17-06  sitzkrieg: You deleted it? Does that mean it wasnt a great pleasure and privelege to be a teammate of wannabe after all?:_)

I am off to bed. Good night!

Mar-17-06  Robin01: I'm just drinking some beer and waiting for a decision.
Mar-17-06  RonB52734: LOL <sitzkrieg>
Mar-17-06  you vs yourself: Excellent game guys. Frankly, I didn't think you'd survive against the sharks like <hitman84> and <brankat>. But you did it!
