WannaBe: <stone free or die> Truman, and not mention G. Ford that didn't even win a presidential election. Like K. Harris that didn't go through a nomination process. And was just thrown out there.

Apr-02-06  Robin01: <WannaBe> Yes, good game. If you want to play another later, I'll try the black pieces next time.
Apr-02-06  Cogano: Say <WannaBe>, why did you play 19...Kh8, if you'll forgive my great ignorance? Thanks. :)

WannaBe: Errrrrrr.......... my own stupidity? Didn't bother spending time looking at the position? :-)

I have a habit of playing corrsp. games like it's blitz... don't know why.... :-(

Apr-02-06  Cogano: No, don't say that! You're anything but stupid. & welcome to the club. I seem to be the president. ;) Ever since I started playing on QA & GK, most often I spend very few seconds per move -- though for me it's because of my infernal anxiety (I keep getting this panic to move everytime I see that it's my turn!). For those few moves, I may spend a few minutes, though usually not more than 5! So, comparatively, since we seem to be plagued by the same curse (even if for different reasons), you're playing like a genius! Heck, look at my game against <Robin>! I must be insane to play like that! ;) But seriously, that damned anxiety just keeps getting in the way! :( Argh! I'll get around it one of these days, if it's the last thing I do. :) Anyway, good luck on your remaining games. :) Take very good care & I'll talk to you soon. Cheers mate! :)
Apr-02-06  themadhair: I just have you this Wannabe - why did you offer a draw to blingice???? I don't understand!!!!!!! I just do not understand!
Apr-02-06  THE pawn: <themadhair> Some things in this world are meant to eternally be mystery.

  WannaBe: <themadhair> What <THE pawn> said. :-)

I have my own method to my own madness.

Apr-03-06  Cogano: Ah come on <WannaBe>. Don't be so hard on yourself. You're practically slaughtering me in our game & you think you're mad!?! Gee whiz already! Heck, even if I were delusional enough to merely assume that for a moment, what kind of a massacre would our game be if you didn't consider yourself mad, considering how it's progressed so far? Nah. You should give yourself far more credit than you do. You're sure worth it, that's for certain. :) Take very good care buddy & I'll talk to you soon. Cheers mate! :)
Apr-04-06  midknightblue: Cogano - sometimes you are so nice it induces a strong gag reflex.
Apr-04-06  midknightblue: <wannabe> congratulations on being on the leader board for the betting page!

Plus it's <guesswho> on the very top...

Apr-05-06  blingice: BabasChess finally works, and it's amazing! I'm astonished that they have Crafty installed into it, because that is just an awesome feature-instant annotation! Can you put Rybka or Zappa into it to do post-mortems?

WannaBe: Hour 14, just finished lunch, trying to break the routines, taking lots and lots of deep breaths. See if I can go through today without killing anyone. 8-)

  WannaBe: <blingice> Yep... :-)
Apr-12-06  suenteus po 147: <WannaBe> In reference to the game you posted on the Beer page: Your big mistake was 37...f5. You are offering a pawn for a pawn and destabilizing your king's position and weakening your remaining pawns. Stronger was 37...Re3. Either white must abandon the pawn (giving you a won endgame), or he can hopelessly try to defend it: 38.Rb4 Kf6 39.Kg2 Ke5; and now if 40.Kf2 then 40...Rxe4 wins. If, however 40.Rb5+ then 40...Kxe4 and then he retreats behind his connected pawns. Also, White then has to worry about his hanging pawn at h3. 37...f5 opened up your king and pawns to needless attack when you had a perfectly active rook and a king that could slip through defenses to aid him. Always use active pieces to mop up or exchange and then push those pawns!

  WannaBe: Headline in today's paper...

'Police: Dead Rapper Fired First Shot.'

Amazing what a deadman can do now-a-days... :)

Apr-12-06  dakgootje: <Amazing what a deadman can do now-a-days... :) > Yes the dead peeps of nowadays just keep amazing us =)

Back in the old days when you were dead you were just dead, so you didnt try to shoot your opponent after you died, as that was obviously againt the rules of dieing... Just like there are lots of people saying those fighting games are bad for the kids as they might be getting agressive, it seems like those old westerns and all the other action movies influenced the people of these days that much that they are just going on after dieing... Ils sont fous ces rappeurs

Apr-12-06  brankat: <Wannabe> Recently, You mentioned on one of the forums, possibly the Cafe, somthing about entering a tournament in Las Vegas, in June, I believe. I'm curious, what kind of a tourney is it? Can You maybe provide a link, if there is one? Thank You.

WannaBe: <brankat> After your last comment made on my game vs. <EmperorAtahualpa>, you lucky I didn't put you on the Ign. List!!!

Just kidding... http://www.lvchessfestival.com/

I'm signed up for the whole six games, (figured to get my punishments) And the Polgar simul!! :-)

Apr-13-06  brankat: <WannaBe> Thanks for the link.

Once in Vegas, You ought to be more careful with Your bucks there, than You are with the chessbucks here. I hope You do have a return ticket, just in case :)

Apr-14-06  EmperorAtahualpa: <I'm signed up for the whole six games, (figured to get my punishments) And the Polgar simul!! :-)>

<WannaBe> That looks exciting! Definitely show us the PGNs of the games you played there, in particular the one against Ms. Polgar!
