WannaBe: <Maroczy> 2 questions, what OS are you using, XP? Or something different?

How do you know the database wasn't re-installed?

May-07-06  Maroczy: <WannaBe>XP; when I check F12 there are only two categories I can access, one says no games and the other has games I entered from some OTB tournaments. Why that is there I have no clue.
May-07-06  Maroczy: <WannaBe>On second thought, don't bother; I'll get Fritz 9 when I get a new system. I don't have a DVD drive.
May-08-06  Open Defence: <wannabe> i have never used chess engines ... are they hard to install ? from the posts here I get more "newsoftwareinstallophobic" day by day
May-08-06  Robin01: Is it time to start listing the teams for the Chess Olympics? Have they listed the teams yet?

<Open Defence> They are not hard to install at all. Just follow the instructions.

May-08-06  percyblakeney: For the Olympiad this is maybe the best site:

cu8sfan: <WannaBe> O, I see, we're the butt of your joke. (-; Speaking of which, there's an expression in German which would translate to 'at the b... of the world'. A free translation would be 'BFE'. So if you ever get there be sure to stop by. (-:

May-08-06  Zebra: <btw I think Italy beat Germany in a friendly 4-1 I think, is that right ? anyone ?>

Yes. It went very quiet here :-)

May-08-06  Zebra: <percyblakeney: For the Olympiad this is maybe the best site:

http://schach.wienerzeitung.at/tnr3...;

Armenia above Ukraine!? And why isn't Ponomariov playing?

May-08-06  percyblakeney: <Zebra> No team from Azerbaijan yet either...
May-08-06  notsodeepthought: Group A - <Germany>, Poland, Ecuador, <Costa Rica>

Group B - <England>, Paraguay, <Sweden>, Trinidad & Tobago

Group C - <Argentina>, Ivory Coast, Serbia & Montenegro, <Netherlands>

Group D - <Mexico>, Angola, <Portugal>, Iran

Group E - <Italy>, Ghana, Czech Republic, <USA>

Group F - <Brazil>, <Croatia>, Australia, Japan

Group G - <France>, <Switzerland>, Togo, S. Korea

Group H - <Spain>, <Ukraine>, Tunisia, Saudi Arabia

For what it's worth, it seems that most kibitizers have agreed on the predictions for Groups B, C, D and H, while the other four group forecasts show a lot more variability (esp. E and G).
