 | | Domdaniel: <CG> In your intro to the Alphazero-Stockfish match, you may want to change 'wining' to 'winning'... |

 | | WannaBe: <CG.com> Page design/layout request... Now that we have laboratory feature and games are now getting analyzed, can you add a symbol (chemistry flask?) next to list of games? (e.g. like the pencil next to games that have annotation, or the speak balloon next to games that have kibit'z'n) Thanks |

 | | Domdaniel: I second WannaBe's suggestion ... it's a great idea. It might even be accepted across the chess universe. |

 | | WannaBe: <CG> In your intro to the Alphazero-Stockfish match, you may want to change 'wining' to 'whinning'... As a lot of people are saying how unfair the hash size and 1m/move was unfair and this was unfair and that was unfair and world is unfair... =))) |

| Dec-07-17 | | zanzibar: <chessgames> RE: <AlphaZero -- Stockfish match> How did you do the Round numbers?
It would be nice if my PGN round numbers matched yours, especially given that the PDF gamelist is the issuing authority. Of course, one really should label these as Game Number, as we don't really know which game in the original sequence of 100 is which. |

 | | chessgames.com: <z> We just used the round numbers from the PGN. I hadn't really noticed what they said and I wouldn't place much stock in them. |

 | | chessgames.com: We decided to start the <Dear Santa Contest> earlier than usual this year, see Santa Claus (kibitz #1774). All you need to win is a registered account a good bit of luck. (And don't be on Santa's "naughty list.") |

|
| Dec-08-17 | | zanzibar: <chessgames> All the AlphaZero--Stockfish games seem to have round 1 as round number. Did you use the PGN available from here?
https://zanchess.wordpress.com/2017... It follows the game order in the paper, incrementing the round number accordingly. Having a round number (or game number) makes it much easier to refer to the individual games, pretty much is mandatory I would think. |

 | | chessgames.com: They should all be changed to "?" until Google releases more information. |
|
| Dec-08-17 | | zanzibar: Seems like shifting sands here...
I disagree of course - we have no indication that Google is ever going to release the other 90 games, let allow give us the sequencing. Besides, the cats already out of the bag - the rest of the multiverse is using the numbering from the paper. https://www.chess.com/forum/view/ga... Common sense would seem to suggest we do the same. Kingcrusher seems to agree:

 | | chessgames.com: Chessgames is happy to offer Guess-the-Move absolutely free for all members until the end of the year. Not just the few select demo games ("Can you play like Lasker?" etc.) but all 15,000+ games are open to the public. Enjoy and Merry Christmas! |

 | | chessgames.com: We were offline for a few minutes, which I noticed instantly because of the live game. By the time I could call our network admin we were back online. He promised he'd call our ISP, and during the short interim we went offline again. He finally called back and said that there was scheduled maintenance of their power-generators today which could create brief interruptions of service. Sorry about that, but it's really good news compared to alternate explanations. I was told it might happen again today one or two more times, but no later than 3pm USA/Eastern. |
