| Dec-23-17 | | MostlyAverageJoe: <whiteshark: <MAJ:... of about 7700> wow, with my Iggy-list I can see only <4,765>> I've realized that I still had several others on my list. After I cleared that list, the total number of pages in the Cafe turns out to be 8562. If other people have similarly extensive lists as yours or mine, the filtering task is putting a severe load on the CG server... |

| Dec-24-17 | | thegoodanarchist: < diceman: <thegoodanarchist: Can you convert that to Kelvins?>
<thegoodanarchist: 505.98I couldn't wait any longer>
505.928?>
Freezing point of water: 273.2 K = 32 deg. F
451-32 = 419
Conversion of 419 Fs to Ks is done by dividing by 1.8: 419 F/1.8 F per K = 232.777... or 232.78 Ks.
Next add this amount to the freezing point:
273.2 + 232.78 = 505.98 (actually 505.9777...) |

| Dec-27-17 | | zanzibar: <CG> another convenience suggestion - for players' bios double the google search link to include <text> + <image> both. Maybe a bit excessive, but I bet it would get used a lot. |

 | | chessgames.com: <Stonehenge: As so often CG is slow again.> We've done some analysis and I have an idea how to relieve the server of its most common work. MAJ actually outlined a rather sensible plan a few weeks back. Thanks for your patience and believe me when I say that this truly is a priority. It's senseless to take on new projects without addressing some efficiency issues first. |

| Dec-28-17 | | WinKing: <minasina: Clue number 62 is before 63. So fifth and sixth solver are in wrong order.> Clue 62 was the last clue solved in the contest <minasina>. The order is correct. |

 | | chessgames.com: <Daniel, I'm still getting Google Ads to the right of the screen on Chessforums & Kibizter Cafe.> My best guess is that you are not signed into your account on the device that is showing you those ads. In any case I just stripped all advertisements from the Kibitzer's Cafe even if you're not signed-in so that problem should vanish on that page, no matter what. BTW, sometimes people ask "How do I know if I'm signed in?" On any page where you can kibitz it's very easy: just scroll to the bottom where you post, and see whether it says <Do you have a comment, Travis Bickle?> or if it gives you a sales pitch to sign-up. If you don't see your username there, you're not signed-in. |

 | | chessgames.com: <Travis Bickle: Thanks Daniel I was & am signed in. I thought maybe it was my web broswer causing a conflict or the site.. Or maybe a rat bastard .... compter rat who hacked my account!> I didn't want to bring it up, but there is a slim possibility that your computer has malware which displays ads on pages that don't have them. Go check the pages in question again and tell me if you still see ads. If so, it probably actually is malware — except please note that it's highly unlikely you contracted malware/viruses from a member of this site. They don't propagate that way. |
