 | | jessicafischerqueen:
Ah I remember something more "reliably" I think. <Daniel> said something like the main goal and purpose of <cg.com> is not to achieve the biggest collection of games on the internet. Possibly. |
| Apr-13-18 | | zanzibar: <Missy> how about helping work on a big-merge DB of Z-base, CG TIbase, Britbase, OlimpBase, RUSbase and Millbase? |
| Apr-13-18 | | Robed.Bishop: <JFK> So your explanation is a definite maybe? |
Apr-13-18
 | | jessicafischerqueen:
<My Dear Bishop> Probably. I have difficulty remembering much after 1945, truth be told. |
| Apr-13-18 | | morfishine: <jessicafischerqueen> Thanks much! Planinc is simply terrific! |
| Apr-13-18 | | Count Wedgemore: I see that the errors that were on the Chessbookie Hall of Fame page have already been corrected. Thanks, <chessgames>. |

 | | jessicafischerqueen:
My good <morf> I just noticed that the <Planinc> tournament is already in the <Tournament Index> here: Vidmar Memorial (1969) <Daniel>, <Steamed Colleagues> didn't there used to be a flag of some sort on games collections that got promoted to the <TI>? I can't see any notification of that sort on <FSR's> <Vidmar Memorial 1969> game collection. Game Collection: Vidmar Memorial It there isn't one, wouldn't it be a good idea to put notifications on games collections that have been promoted to the <Tournament Index>? |
| Apr-14-18 | | morfishine: Thank you <jessicafischerqueen>! That was fast! This is truly great! This was a very momentous tournament for the Chess world, not to mention Planinc himself! |
Apr-14-18
 | | Tabanus: The Vidmar Memorial (1969) was voted into TI about 3 years and 2 months ago. Good that someone finally commented on it. |
| Apr-14-18 | | morfishine: <Tabanus> About a week ago, a Planinc game was GOTD, but the tournament title was not linkable from that game. Thats what prompted me to inquire about a tournament forum. From what you are saying, the tournament forum has been set up for awhile now; so maybe it was just an issue with linking the individual games In any case, this is excellent! |
| Apr-14-18 | | morfishine: Maybe the next "Planinc project" will be to set up a tournament forum for Amsterdam IBM 1973. One article has Planinc winning while another has him tied for first with Petrosian. Either way, this is a highlight for Planinc due to the strength of field. |
Apr-14-18
 | | Tabanus: <morphishine> Sounds like a duplicate game. I could try to get rid of it, if you know which one it was. |
| Apr-14-18 | | morfishine: <Tabanus> Sorry for the confusion. This is not a duplicate game. I had just read separate chess-related articles one stating Planinc had won Amsterdam IBM 1973, but in another article it stated he tied for 1st with Petrosian. Either way, it was a great achievement for the meteoric Planinc. I just thought it would be cool to have a tournament forum for Amsterdam IBM 1973 I have Planinc's games in that tournament saved here: morfishine's Game Collections ***** |
Apr-14-18
 | | Tabanus: <morphishine> I like Planinc of course. We have IBM Amsterdam (1972), why not 1973! |
Apr-14-18
 | | jessicafischerqueen:
<Tab> If you and <morf> are planinc to create the IBM Amsterdam 1973 tournament, this is great news for cg.com. |
Apr-15-18
 | | Tabanus: <jess> It would be greater news if you made a come-back. I'm too old and tired for writing intros (the hard part) which are in dubious English anyway, or skewed towards which hotel the players stayed in ;) Here's my deal: YOU write the intro, after I've made a dated game collection (if that's possible) with xtab. |

Apr-15-18
 | | OhioChessFan: The last two days, when I kibitz, the page I posted to won't load. The page with spinning balls just keeps loading. Not a big deal, but worrisome. |
| Apr-15-18 | | WinKing: Can we please get some forums opened up for the U.S. Championship 2018 & the Gashimov Memorial 2018 - thanks. |
Apr-15-18
 | | Stonehenge: Can you add these games:
Rossolimo vs Bisguier, 1954 and J F Donovan vs Bisguier, 1954 to 55th US Open (1954)? |
| Apr-15-18 | | Octavia: Could we see the last few rounds of the European Women's Chess Championship, please? Today is a rest day. May be we could see the top bd? Im sure most people know the names of the top players |
Apr-15-18
 | | Stonehenge: Could we have pizza and beer? |
Apr-15-18
 | | WannaBe: <Stonehenge: Could we have pizza and beer?> I Second that. |
Apr-15-18
 | | jessicafischerqueen:
<Tab> Ok I will write it so let me know in my forum when you get the X-ray done and book all of our hotel rooms. 7 out of 8 of the boxes containing my chess liberry have arrived so far. |
Apr-15-18
 | | Tabanus: <jess> Great :)) Dated games + xtab + a little collected for the intro at Game Collection: IBM Amsterdam 1973. You clone it and take over. I'm exhausted now. Yeah let's move elsewhere, to you and Bistro. |
| Apr-16-18 | | WinKing: I am saddened to inform you all that my mother has passed away this morning. I was scheduled to be your ChessBookie this time around but will have to tend to family matters for a couple of weeks. I have asked Daniel to have someone fill in for me till I get back. Sincerely <WinKing>. |
