 | | SwitchingQuylthulg: <Stonehenge> I hope you're not leaving the site; but if you are, I fully second everything that <Paint My Dragon> said. Very few users have contributed as much to Chessgames as you have; and no one has contributed as much as you have and received as little recognition for it. |

 | | chancho: <Stonehenge> The current bedlam can be disconcerting, but once the administrative situation is fully resolved, (hopefully) this site should be humming along as smoothly as it ever was. Anywho, hope everything goes exceedingly well for you in all your future endeavours. |

As the last one claimed, I was his greatest fan (well, I was, until he achieved his well-earned celebrity status). The only real problem with the guy was he was just so "plain lazy"! . |

< Jul-21-18 Penguincw: < chessgames.com: We're going to cancel the broadcast of the final round of Dortmund in favor of Biel. >A bit late now, and I'm alright with either/or, but I think in the future ... > There ended up being no "in the future" or next time. :'( |

I took the time & scoured the Bistro archive to come up with this list.
It may or may not be complete. My apologies if I have missed anyone.
Please let me know if I missed anyone & I will add them to the list. |
| Aug-11-18 | | zanzibar: <WinKing> looks like a valuable list, and pretty accurate, but it is missing some valuable historical contributors, like <Honza> and many others. <Honza> was explicitly mentioned by <Daniel> in interviews as taking <CG> in a new direction that <Daniel> never really expected - i.e. to become an accurate historical site. |
| Aug-11-18 | | WinKing: <zanzibar> I will add any members that you at the Bistro think should be on this list. I will wait in case there may be even more to add. |
| Aug-11-18 | | zanzibar: Yes, <WinKing>, I'll offer up some more - but let me have time to research it a bit. I've appreciated so much of the help from so many of these people over the years, it's the reason I got hooked on <CG>. |
| Aug-11-18 | | WinKing: <zanzibar> 'I will be here waiting with bells on'. ;) |
| Aug-11-18 | | WinKing: By the way <zanzibar> when this list is complete I think it should be put somewhere on the Bistro home page. I was actually surprised there was no such list to begin with. For history's sake I think such a list should be noted. |
| Aug-11-18 | | zanzibar: <WinKing> ah, there's so much room for improvement. I can put the list on my blog, and you can maybe make a pseudo-game collection to have the list on <CG>. In fact, maybe you can do that now - editing is allowed and we'd have a "perma-link" for the list. (Technical note- you can make a collection and then delete the game used to create it, thereby getting just a pure list page. <Phony> taught me that trick.) Eventually, we might get <Sargon> to add such a list into the formal <CG> special pages. Cheers. |
| Aug-11-18 | | TheFocus: <TheFocus - Assistant> I was actually an Editor, and shared in two <Caissars>. |
| Aug-11-18 | | WinKing: I thought so <Focus> but did not see the title 'Editor' in your Bio. We can change this list around till we get it as close to accurate as possible. You guys at the Bistro just have to tell me what needs to be added or changed. |
| Aug-11-18 | | TheFocus: Your list looks pretty complete. I am no longer an Editor. |
| Aug-11-18 | | nok: <You mean, posts about doing his job?>
Daniel was not just doing his job, he was part of the community. Sargon's tone seems more of a bossy corporate type. |
| Aug-11-18 | | zanzibar: <Focus> did quite a few of the TI entries too, especially the ones added early in the <CG> history. |
| Aug-11-18 | | thegoodanarchist: <WinKing: The 'heart & soul' of chessgames. > Thanks to all of them! |
| Aug-11-18 | | zanzibar: <nok> RE: Sargon's tone Well, let's just assume he had just finishing reading the comment thread on <Daniel>'s page, and was somewhat P.O.'ed. We're all human, and it's always a little dangerous to post when angry. |

| Aug-11-18 | | Tiggler: <nok: <You mean, posts about doing his job?> Daniel was not just doing his job, he was part of the community. Sargon's tone seems more of a bossy corporate type.> He seems to me to be just a bit too nerdy to know much about social interaction. Pretty sad, given that he makes his living creating social media platforms. |

 | | OhioChessFan: <zanzi: Well, let's just assume he had just finishing reading the comment thread on <Daniel>'s page, and was somewhat P.O.'ed.> That thought hit me yesterday too. I might add, <what if> he wasn't all that familiar with how Daniel did things, and how really not out of the ordinary all that ranting was? Some of us got a kick out of thinking Daniel would get a kick out of it, but to the uninitiated........whew. <We're all human, and it's always a little dangerous to post when angry.> Agreed, although, again, he had two weeks to say something. As not nice as that post was, at least it was a signal that <somebody> is doing <something>. |

| Aug-11-18 | | Dr Winston OBoogie: When I try use search kibitzing I'm getting the server overloaded message. I don't know if anyone else's is getting the same error but I've never gotten it before trying to use the SK feature. |
| Aug-11-18 | | WinKing: <Tabanus: <WinKing> User: chessgames.com was editor also, if that counts.> Yeah I think that counts <Tabanus>. I will add it to the list. I have also added Honza Cervenka as an assistant per
<zanzibar>. |
| Aug-11-18 | | Caissanist: With so many people webcrawling the site due to worries about its possible demise, I'm not surprised that it would be getting overloaded. Hopefully things will calm down in the coming days. |
