 | | OhioChessFan: I know I shouldn't take Wikipedia seriously, but this is the message above the chessgames.com article: <This article does not cite any references or sources.> Then below there are 14 references and 2 external references. |

 | | chessgames.com: Since the time that the Wikipedia article was written, several more appearances of chessgames have occurred in print, including a very detailed interview with Daniel Freeman "Quasi Eine Traumhockzeit", published in Schachwelt, May 2010, pp 50-52. The Chess Life article about the Chessgames Challenge is scheduled to come out in August. |

| Jul-11-11 | | Beadyeyezz: <cg.com>...must i keep getting banned then having to start up under different usernames? I unfortunately got caught up in the "flame wars" before with users like <thefocus>(the proper cause of trouble here)and was made the scapegoat...i regret the game collections i used to get back at other users(which AJ goldsby instructed me how to do by the way)but im unable to delete them as you deleted my username's so i cannot login to delete them!!!
I now only wish to talk chess, and once i deactivate this handle il use another one for that sole purpose...i hope you understand, and my original handle was <Lennonfan>btw....just in case someone like <thefocus>hadn't already emailed you informing you of this...thank you,all the best |

| Jul-11-11 | | TheFocus: Hey <Beadyeyezz> Why don't you wipe your snotty nose? Go to my Forum and check out your new poem.
If you had let me alone, I would not have had to strike back. |
|
| Jul-11-11 | | Beadyeyezz: Hey <thefocus>...go check out the poem iv wrote for YOU at your forum! I think mine 's a lot better |

| Jul-12-11 | | Benzol: <CG> Any chance of processing the latest game uploads soon? |
|
| Jul-12-11 | | bartonlaos: To: WikiChess-Editors@<Chessgames.com> I searched for "Chess on the Internet" at Amazon.com and found this external reference to support several facts about <CG> in case of any impending decision: < "Chessgames: This is a free site with more than 100,000 users and a database of more than half a million games. You can find games that use the openings you're interested in or do a search by a favorite player. Many games have instructive comments from other users - you may want to add your own!" - "Chess Openings for Dummies", page 347: http://www.amazon.com/Chess-Opening... > ------
Chessgames.com was also used multiple times to source games in the book, <"Beyond Deep Blue - Chess in the Stratosphere">:
http://www.amazon.com/reader/085729... ------
Amazon listed other books about "Chess on the Internet", such as those by esteemed author <FM Eric Schiller>, but it did not allow searches of them to know whether any could be used as external references. |

 | | chessgames.com: In our office is a copy of <World Chess Championship: Kramnik vs. Leko 2004> sent to us by Ray Keene. It not only mentions Chessgames perhaps a dozen times, and even has quotes attributed to specific Chessgames members (e.g. acirce). |
|
Jul-12-11
 | | chessgames.com: <Benzol> Sure, they are coming soon. |

 | | tpstar: Keene's book is reference #4. He was kibitzing with us during the match, which we all followed as one of the earliest live events. Remember the bit about <offramp> and that fake baseball quote? ;>D |

 | | chessgames.com: Dear <Beadyeyezz> aka <Glasseyezz> aka < Chessfanatic100> aka <Lennonfan> ad nauseum: When you were first placed on probation we might have let you cool off for a month or two and then let you back on the site. Unfortunately, during that month you went absolutely berserk, attempted to vandalize Chessgames inasmuch as possible. You "violated probation" so to speak. In all honesty, what you have to try to do now is play a game in which the goal is to "fool us". (Not really, but in spirit.) Make a new account, don't tell anybody that you are Lennonfan, and "just talk chess" as you say. If done correctly, nobody will know it is you, not even us. If you truly are a fan of the royal game, then this option should appeal to you greatly. Of course the admins can see your IP address and stuff like that, but it's not your IP address which is getting you banned... it's your behavior. Even if we were 99.9% sure an account was you, we wouldn't ban an account that is contributing in a positive way. When you really are talking chess, we thank you for your contributions. So go ahead and turn over a new leaf with a new account. However, if one day you stop talking chess and start stalking The Focus, spending all your time on Goldsby pages, personally threatening other members, and using the word "gay" as if it's an insult, then you'll blow your cover again. Good luck. |

 | | Stonehenge: <CG> Excellent post regarding Lennonfan. If you clean up his game collection too, then it's perfect :) |
|
| Jul-12-11 | | TheFocus: Thank you, <CG>. That is very much appreciated. |
|
| Jul-12-11 | | fab4: You into music ? |

 | | Domdaniel: It's in the scorpion's nature to sting.
I don't think the erstwhile Lennonfan deserves even the ghost of a chance here, whatever he calls himself. But it's your call, <CG>, and you seem to have matters in hand. |

 | | OhioChessFan: Here's how it works. The administrators set up a site and some reasonable rules. People visit the site and try to act in accordance with those rules. Some people enjoy <technical draw> sense of humor and engage in that with him. Some don't enjoy his style and leave him alone. Ditto <domdaniel> and <TheFocus> There's really no need for the misanthrope (Yes, a real word, and yes, I use it in real life) routine. Why don't you make a bit of an effort to act right? |
|
| Jul-14-11 | | technical draw: <Some people enjoy <technical draw> sense of humor and engage in that with him. Some don't enjoy his style and leave him alone.> Who are these people that don't? I want names and e-mail addresses. It's that <WannaBe> character, right? He put you up to this, right? Wasscally wabbit! |
